The political power <strong>of</strong> this Rothschild-controlled axis was<br />

demonstrated by <strong>the</strong> ease with which <strong>the</strong>y financed <strong>the</strong><br />

campaigns <strong>of</strong> two governors <strong>of</strong> supposedly conservative<br />

Sou<strong>the</strong>rn states, John D. Rockefeller IV in West Virginia,<br />

and Charles Robb, son-in-law <strong>of</strong> Lyndon B. Johnson, in<br />

Virginia, heir to <strong>the</strong> Connally - Brown & Root - First City<br />

Bancorp political clout.<br />

The May 1976 staff rept. <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> House Banking and<br />

Currency Committee noted ano<strong>the</strong>r Rothschild affiliate<br />

(p.60): "The Rothschild banks are affiliated with<br />

Manufacturers Hanover <strong>of</strong> London (in which <strong>the</strong>y hold<br />

20% interest, a merchant bank, and Manufacturers<br />

Hanover Trust <strong>of</strong> N.Y." Manufacturers Hanover recently<br />

bought <strong>the</strong> giant CIT Financial Corp. for $1.6 billion in<br />

October, 1983.<br />
