Troubleshooting<br />
<strong>Th<strong>is</strong></strong> section contains a few tips on how to operate your phone if you encounter<br />
any problems.<br />
Malfunctions<br />
Your call partner can<strong>no</strong>t hear you or you can<strong>no</strong>t hear your call partner<br />
Make sure the handset cord <strong>is</strong> correctly plugged into both the handset and the phone (see chapter<br />
"Installation and first-time operation", <strong>page</strong> 114).<br />
Handset off-hook, <strong>no</strong> dialling tone, <strong>no</strong> d<strong>is</strong>play<br />
Make sure the phone cord <strong>is</strong> correctly plugged in to both the phone and the LAN socket (see chapter<br />
"Installation and first-time operation", <strong>page</strong> 114).<br />
D<strong>is</strong>play shows "Not configured", handset off-hook, <strong>no</strong> dial tone<br />
Your phone has <strong>no</strong>t been assigned a call number. Contact your system admin<strong>is</strong>trator for more information.<br />
The d<strong>is</strong>play reads: "Trying to reg<strong>is</strong>ter"<br />

D<strong>is</strong>play <strong>is</strong> working, but connection <strong>is</strong> <strong>no</strong>t possible<br />
Your phone may be locked. Unlock your phone (see chapter "Unlocking your phone", <strong>page</strong> 60).<br />
Freely configurable keys can<strong>no</strong>t be configured<br />
The configuration may be locked. Unlock your phone (see chapter "Unlocking your phone", <strong>page</strong> 60).<br />
The key for a reconfiguration may be locked in the system. Contact your system admin<strong>is</strong>trator for more<br />
information.<br />
The expansion key module <strong>Aastra</strong> M530/<strong>Aastra</strong> M535 possibly has <strong>no</strong>t sufficient power supply. Contact<br />
your system admin<strong>is</strong>trator for more information.<br />
Insufficient d<strong>is</strong>play contrast<br />
The setting for the d<strong>is</strong>play contrast <strong>is</strong> inadequate. Change the setting (see chapter "Setting the d<strong>is</strong>play",<br />
<strong>page</strong> 85).<br />
Impaired sound quality during hands-free operation<br />
The sound quality can be affected if the volume <strong>is</strong> too loud – turn down the volume. If the sound quality<br />
fluctuates, contact your system admin<strong>is</strong>trator.<br />
Only emergency calls are possible<br />
You may want to telephone from a Free Seating phone, but have <strong>no</strong>t logged on to it. Log on to the<br />
phone (see Chapter "Free seating", <strong>page</strong> 72).<br />
Phone calls can be made, but <strong>no</strong> names are d<strong>is</strong>played; the key configuration <strong>is</strong> m<strong>is</strong>sing, and the<br />
phone does <strong>no</strong>t respond to function commands<br />
Restricted mode following a software update without update licence.<br />
