The Manual BUSY Indicator is designed for phones which are not compatible with our standard Touch-N-
Talk BUSY Indicator. Like the standard indicator, our Manual BUSY Indicator solves one of the most
common problems associated with using a headset: people can't tell you're on the phone and they
mistakenly interrupt you. To this end, our Manual BUSY Indicator lets you show other people you're on the
phone at the touch of a button.
And, if you continue to wear your headset between calls, perhaps confusing co-workers even further, again,
our BUSY Indicator is the way around the problem. Press a button and the bright red BUSY light lets folks
know you're on a call. The lamp can be positioned wherever it's most visible; its intense dome light can be
viewed from just about every angle. A 7 foot cord is included, and additional 7 foot extensions are
available.

Installing the lamp switch
The small On/Off switch that activates the BUSY lamp can be attached to your telephone or to your desk.
So you can get to it quickly and easily when you need to place or answer a call, situating it conveniently
close to your phone would be your best bet.
You can attach the On/Off switch using the Velcro® tabs included for this purpose.
Position the On/Off switch so it's within easy reach of your telephone.
Replacing the batteries
The Manual BUSY Indicator lamp is powered by two AA batteries, which are included. When you need to
replace the batteries, just remove the sliding door from the back of the lamp case. Then, insert the batteries
as indicated by the + and – markings on the circuit board.
Positioning the BUSY lamp
Locate your indicator's BUSY lamp where it's most likely to be seen. Place it on top of your phone or your
PC, or put it on the wall—or even on top of a cubicle partition. Its 7 foot cord should give you ample room
to position the lamp for maximum visibility.
If you need additional length, order as many of our 7 foot extension cords (Item #1476) as you like. Once
you've determined the proper placement of the lamp, fasten it securely using the (included) Velcro® tabs.
Place BUSY lamp so it's clearly visible, and folks are less
likely to interrupt you when you're on a call.
Limited 1-Year Warranty
1. Hello Direct warrants this product to be free from defects in materials or workmanship, under normal use
and service, for one year, subject to the limitations set forth below. This warranty extends only to the
original owner. This warranty is void if service is performed by anyone other than Hello Direct.
2. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to
state. Hello Direct's obligations under this warranty are limited to repair or replacement, at Hello Direct's
sole option, of the product or parts found to be defective, as diagnosed by an authorized Hello Direct

customer service representative. Hello Direct reserves the right to make such inspections as may be
necessary in order to determine the cause of the defect. Hello Direct will not charge for labor or parts in
connection with any repairs or replacements covered in this warranty.
3. This warranty does not apply to: (a) product failure resulting from accidents, improper care or operation,
or negligence (where Hello Direct is not at fault), or from normal wear and tear. In these cases, repairs or
replacement will be made at a reasonable charge; (b) consumable parts such as cords, ear cushions, clothing
clips, microphone screens or batteries; (c) any product which has been subject to alteration or modification,
or which has been installed or used in any manner contrary to this instruction manual.
4. To obtain warranty repair/replacement service under this warranty, the owner must call Hello Direct at 1-
800-444-3556 for an RMA number and full return/replacement instructions.
5. This written limited warranty is the only warranty made by Hello Direct. Repair or replacement
as provided under this warranty shall be the exclusive remedy available to the purchaser. Hello
Direct shall not be responsible for loss of use of the product or for any other incidental, special or
consequential damages or expenses incurred by the purchaser or by any other party, even if Hello
Direct has been notified of the possibility of such damages or expenses. Except to the extent
prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranties, including those of merchantability or fitness
for a particular purpose, are hereby expressly excluded, and, to the extent not excludable, are
expressly limited to the duration of this warranty. Some states do not allow exclusion of implied
warranties, limitations on the duration of implied warranties, or the exclusion or limitation of
incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation and exclusion may not apply to you.
