LATH AND PORTLAND CEMENT PLASTER
1.01 SCOPE
A. Provide Lath and Plaster work as indicated by the Contract Documents.
B. Work items, and requirements specified elsewhere that relate and/or apply to this Section include:
1. Light gage Metal Framing - Section 05400
2. Concrete Unit Masonry - Section 04200
3. Sheet Metal Flashing and Trim Section 07620.
4. Special Coatings - Section 09800
1.02 STANDARDS AND QUALITY
A. Meet requirements and recommendations of applicable portions of Standards listed.

3. Plaster Information Bureau PIB
4. Underwriter's Laboratories, Inc. UL
5. ML/SFA (Metal Lath/ Steel Framing Association).
6. PCA (Portland Cement Association) Plaster (Stucco) Manual.
7. Lath & Plaster Systems Manual published by Texas Lathing and Plastering Contractors Association and
Texas Bureau for Lath & Plaster.
1.03 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
A. Fabricate vertical wall and furred space framing to limit finish surface deflection to L/180 under lateral point
load of 100 lbs.
B. Fabricate horizontal ceiling and soffit framing to limit finish surface to L/360 deflection under superimposed
dead loads and wind uplifts.
1.04 SUBMITTALS
A. Prepare 2 samples, each approximately 2 feet square, at a location on the site as directed by the Architect.
A. General: Submit in accordance with SECTION 01340 – SUBMITTALS.
B. Product Data: Submit product data with installation instructions.
C. Shop Drawings: Submit a diagram of proposed control joint and expansion joint layout prior to starting work.
D. Samples: Include color chips for color selection.
G. Recycled Content:
1. Indicate recycled content; indicate percentage of pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled content per
unit of product.
2. Indicate material cost of product less labor included in project.
3. If recycled content product is part of an assembly, indicate the percentage of recycled content product in
the assembly by weight.
H. Local/Regional Materials:
1. Sourcing location(s): Indicate location of extraction, harvesting, and recovery; indicate distance between
extraction, harvesting, and recovery and the project site.
2. Manufacturing location(s): Indicate location of manufacturing facility; indicate distance between
manufacturing facility and the project site.
3. Product Value: Indicate dollar value of product containing local/regional materials; include materials cost
only.
4. Product Component(s) Value: Where product components are sourced or manufactured in separate
locations, provide location information for each component. Indicate the percentage by weight of each
component per unit of product.
B. Provide product data or MSDS indicating VOC emissions in grams/liter (g/L) for the following products:
1. Plaster: Comply with California’s South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) #1113
identified in Section 01352.
