PART 1 - GENERAL
SECTION 08410
ALUMINUM ENTRANCES AND STOREFRONTS
1.01 SCOPE
A. Provide Aluminum Entrances and Storefront Work as indicated by the Contract Documents.
B. Work, items and requirements specified elsewhere that apply and/or relate to this Section include:
1. Sealants and Caulking - Section 07920
2. Metal Doors and Frames - Section 08100
3. Finish Hardware - Section 08710
4. Glass and Glazing - Section 08810
C. Work Included:
1. Glazing of storefront and entrances shall be under this Section and shall be performed in accordance with
Section 08810 - Glass and Glazing.
2. Sealing of storefront, including joints between storefront and contiguous material, shall be under this
Section and performed in accordance with Section 07920 - Sealants & Caulking.
3. Furnish and install hardware less masterkeyed cylinders. Cylinders will be supplied by the Hardware
Supplier under Section 08710 - Finish Hardware.
1.02 STANDARDS AND QUALITY
A. Meet requirements and recommendations of the applicable portions of standards listed:
1. American Society for Testing and Materials ASTM
2. National Association of Architectural Metal NAAMM
1.03 SUBMITTALS
A. Refer to Section 01340 - Submittals.
B. Submit shop drawings in accordance with the requirements of the Supplementary General Conditions.
C. Shop drawings include:
1. Metals - kind and gauge.
2. Members - sizes and shape.
3. Bracing, Framing and Anchors - method and type.
4. Finishes - respective types.
5. Structural elements of building - size and relation to the members.
D. Submit samples of materials involved showing actual colors and finishes.
E. Submit aluminum samples in duplicate, one to be returned to manufacturer for color control, one to be retained
by Architect for comparison on job.
F. Recycled Content:
1. Indicate recycled content; indicate percentage of pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled content per
unit of product.
2. Indicate material cost of product less labor included in project.
3. If recycled content product is part of an assembly, indicate the percentage of recycled content product in
the assembly by weight.
G. Local/Regional Materials:
1. Sourcing location(s): Indicate location of extraction, harvesting, and recovery; indicate distance between
extraction, harvesting, and recovery and the project site.
2. Manufacturing location(s): Indicate location of manufacturing facility; indicate distance between
manufacturing facility and the project site.
3. Product Value: Indicate dollar value of product containing local/regional materials; include materials cost
only.
4. Product Component(s) Value: Where product components are sourced or manufactured in separate
locations, provide location information for each component. Indicate the percentage by weight of each
component per unit of product.
