Mobile Maintenance Composition (MMC) Mobile Maintenance Unit 69.50 The Mobile Maintenance Composition is the combination of the Mobile Maintenance Unit ROBEL 69.50 and the Traction and Supply Unit ROBEL 69.40. The Traction and Supply Unit ROBEL 69.40 consists of a cabin spanning the entire length of the frame. It includes an operator’s compartment, a staff room, a workshop and a storage room. The unit is fully compatible with the Mobile Maintenance Unit, particularly with regard to the driving and breaking technology, vehicle control in drive and work mode, work hydraulics, work pneumatics, work electrics as well as the overall conceptual collaboration. The full energy supply of the Mobile Maintenance Unit is provided by the Traction and Supply Unit. The aggregates required for this are placed underfloor, leaving ample space for staff room, workshop and storage room. A particular focus was placed on the overriding safety installations between Traction and Supply Unit and the Mobile Maintenance Unit. The safety of track workers is guaranteed by a riskless crossing from the Traction and Supply Unit to the Mobile Maintenance Unit. The protected area is never left. The work drive for the use of the Mobile Maintenance Unit is infinitely variable from 0 to 10 kph using a mobile control panel on both platforms of the Mobile Maintenance Unit. The regular drive (0 to 80 kph) is operated from the driver’s cabin of the Traction and Supply Unit or the driver’s cabin of the Mobile Maintenance Unit. The combination of the Mobile Maintenance Unit with the Traction and Supply Unit (= Mobile Maintenance Composition) offers a perfectly matched concept for more safety, quality and economic efficiency for the entire maintenance. Safety, Quality, Cost-efficiency
Working on track places staff at great risk. Speed limits for adjacent
tracks in the area of the worksite cost additional time and money.
Maintenance work increasingly has to be carried out during bad
weather conditions as well as during the night. It is very difficult to
achieve the require quality of work under these circumstances.
The purpose of the „Mobile Maintenance Unit“ is to create a safe
and ergonomic working area, without long set up and dismantling
times and with a low number of required staff.
The use of selected machines and devices guarantees a high quality
and efficiency of work. The unit is mainly used for maintenance work
in the track area, regulation of switches, preparation of full switch
and track maintenance, for the exchange of rail pads as well as
works on rail joints and common switch crossings.
ADVANTAGES
Safety
Highest safety by all-round protection
• Glare screen from trains on adjacent tracks through side walls
and roller blinds
Ergonomic lighting of the whole work area
Ergonomic machine arrangement
• Protection from wind and weather
Quality
• Mobility – runs on “its own axle”, providing the best possible work
quality due to optimally phased use of the integrated machines and tools
• Glare-free lighting of the whole work area inside the unit,
especially for night shifts
Variety of equipment options
Universally applicable by a variety of adaptable energy systems
• Simultaneous transport of tools and material
Cost-efficiency
Highest cost-efficiency
• Considerable cost-saving potential for safety measures
(e.g. safety posts, optical and acoustic warning system)
