Beginning with a look through history
What Daniel saw in his time:
a. He saw the succession of kingdoms (Babylon to Medo­Persia to
Greece to Rome to the end time revised Rome) and the 70 weeks
(69 up to Christ) and the 70th week will be the seven year tribulation.
He saw from Babylon to Antiochus Epiphanes who the Maccabeus
led a revolt against and 80,000 Jews died—now it is celebrated
as Hanukkah.
b. Antiochus Epiphanes was a shadow of the antichrist that oppressed
Israel and desecrated the Temple by sacrificing pigs on
the altar dedicating them to Zeus and Jupiter his demon gods. He
also did away with the sacrifices to Jehovah and set up prostitutes
in the Temple. Then he, of course, set himself up as God.
What Jesus predicted in his time: He predicted the destruction of the
temple of 70 AD. Vespasian was a heralded Roman General that took
office as Caesar. He sent his son Titus to Jerusalem to conquer it. The
army heard there was gold between the stones of Herod’s Temple and
literally took donkeys, tied ropes to the stones, and pulled every stone
off another looking for gold. This is exactly what Jesus predicted would
happen. Not one stone was left on another. During the massacre 1
million 200,000 Jews were crucified.
What John the Revelator saw: to the seven churches of Asia
1. Ephesus—means “to let go or relax.” It speaks of how the church
lost revival and became more ritualistic and dead in its services.
This was from the prophetic time period in church history of 33AD
to 100AD. The two things that brought about this spiritual death
was:
a. The absence of taking the Lord’s Supper (first love or supreme
love feast lost)
