ginning of wisdom. The word fear is translated literally “afraid.” It is
more than just reverence or respect. Jesus confirmed this when he
said not to fear the one that can only kill your body, but be afraid of the
one that can kill your body and throw you into hell (Matthew 10:28).
John the Apostle was in his old age and still fell on his face before the
living Christ when he appeared to John on the isle of Patmos (Revelation
1:17). On the other hand Judas Iscariot thought nothing of dipping
his hand in the same bread sauce with the king on the night of the betrayal
(Matthew 26:23). Judas had become familiar with the Lord and
no longer feared him in a healthy way. Uzzah was struck dead while
touching the ark as it was falling because the Ox stumbled (2Sam 6).
Uzzah was presumptuous in thinking that God needed his help in
steadying his glory. This spirit will cause people to not really have a
healthy respect for God’s anointed servants. This spirit will also hate
preaching against sin unless it is in a legalistic sort of way. Also since
Christ can be translated “anointed one,” we can see this spirit is an
anti­anointing spirit that opposes revivals and God’s anointed servants.
It is the spirit that stirs up slander and resistance against revivals and
anointed ministries. Last, this spirit will tolerate you talking about Jesus
as a prophet or an actual man who lived, but when you call him God,
that spirit will rise up in protest.
The third spirit that is in this unholy trinity is Jezebel. I may list her
third, but she is probably the main power house in this trinity of evil.
Jezebel will try to control. This is why many revivals have failed. When
man tries to control God out of fear or pride, the end of the moving of
the Holy Spirit is near. When these three spirits are at work, it literally
forms something like a python snake that tries to suffocate the presence
of God out and bring spiritual death. I have been in churches that
God wouldn’t move no matter what. The people didn’t want God to
move, they only wanted their tradition, politics, or prestige. People and
churches that are in bondage to this spirit will be critical of the revivals
that are going on. They will be quick to judge what they do not understand.
There is usually a certain way they believe things ought to be,
and if you oppose that, they will slander you for it. Remember Pharisees
will kill over their religion! This Pharisee stronghold is best described
as a python that seeks to kill revival in individuals, families,
churches, and large people groups.
Three fold cord of satanic attack
The enemy uses a threefold plan to oppose the people of God. It is
temptation, deception, and accusation. I want to discuss the three.
Temptation is the weakest of all satanic attacks, even though a babe in
Christ will consider it the strongest. In 1 John 2:16 we read about the
lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. These are
