spirit realm, or talked to demons. Many will say yes. They have obtained
a demonic link between their spirit and souls that enable them to
do this. They either obtained it through inheritance, their own occult
involvement, through a sexual encounter, or a through a drug trip.
There will have to be confession of this ability as sin, then destroying
the works of satan which is a link between spirit and soul, and last
casting out the demon that is forming the link. If this is over looked,
much satanic attack and torment will follow, and at times it could lead
to demons returning. If a demon is not dealt with and left in someone,
it will try to act like a gate­keeper to let others back in.
Passive Mind
As I mentioned before this can hinder a deliverance from taking place
or hinder the person from keeping their deliverance after it happens. I
spend time asking a lot of questions before praying for deliverance.
You can ask if there is any unforgiveness toward others, and are they
willing to forgive. Are they willing to lose all occult abilities? Are they
willing to give up sinful behavior and remove all sinful possessions out
of their lives? Also, it will be important to check for a passive mind. If
the person keeps being knocked unconscious or taken over by demons,
there is an issue of a passive mind. Even though depression
can be impressed by demons, if the person has a tendency toward
suicide, disassociating, blanking out their minds, have been involved in
occult meditation, has a deep sense of rejection, loneliness, or depression,
there is probably an issue with a passive soul. I usually ask these
things and then explain how to discipline your soul and why it is so
important. If demons knock someone unconscious or put them in a
coma, you will have to bind the demons that are causing it and command
that the person awake. You will probably have to break the ties
the demons have to their strongman and also speak to the person being
delivered to be awake and alert in Jesus’ name. This is a tactic of
demons in some deliverances. Be ready for this.
Be straight
I also let people know up front deliverance is not easy and it is not a
one­time easy fix. It can take up to a year to fully walk it out, and it will
be seven times harder after the initial deliverance to maintain it because
the demons will go get seven others (even more wicked) and try
to return. Therefore the demons can make them feel sick, tired, depressed,
lonely, oppressed, and make them feel the way they did before
they were delivered. Only now the demons are doing it from the
outside and not from within. They will have to stand in faith that it is
done and take authority in the name of Jesus when battles arise. They
