deliverance. For a person to get totally delivered and keep that deliverance,
they will have to regain control of their souls again. If demons
get back in because of this, do not panic. Ask Jesus to forgive you for
allowing your mind to be passive, and then command those demons
that entered to go in the name of Jesus!
Soul control
Our soul is made up of our mind, will, emotions, memory, and imagination.
So the way we can control our soul is first, regain complete
control of our wills. We should be decisive and stick to decisions. Demons
should not be able to knock us out, put us into trances, or cause
us to astral project at their will! Some people have so surrendered their
souls to demons that they have given up this God­given free will to
some degree. They will need to take it back in Christ. They will need to
ask the Lord to give it back to them and help them control it again.
Second, we must control our thought life (2 Cor 10:3­5). Any thoughts
that enter our minds that are not of God (past hurts, sexual perversions,
violence, revengeful, fearful, lonely, depressing, or accusing of
another) must be cast out and replaced with good wholesome
thoughts. Our emotions need to be under control where we do not lose
our tempers, have mood swings, or allow ourselves to have the ups
and downs of depression, loneliness, fears, or self pity­parties. We can
reach a place of control over our emotions that we do not say things
we really don’t mean and hurt others. We also must discipline ourselves
using our memory to remember the good things that are from
our past. We need to remember the victories that Christ has given us.
King David did this when he was just a boy. He remembered the victory
that God gave him over the lion and the bear. So he imagined the
giant Goliath being no different! (1 Sam 17:34) Our remembering past
victories can be a great strength to us in difficult times, but if we sit
around dwelling on the hurt of past, it can be a great weakness to us
even in good times. Our imagination can be evil or good. An evil
imagination can be imagining perverse pictures in our minds. Our
imagination can be very creative and causes us to be able to see mental
pictures or “movie­like” sequences. It is this part of our soul that has
a lot to do with dreaming. The imagination is the “stepping stone” to
the spirit realm. God can use our imaginations to speak to us through
dreams and visions, but if one isn’t careful it can tap into occult demons
and begin to move into demonic spirit communication. God
wants us to have a holy imagination that looks into the future and sees
the blessings of God in our lives. God doesn’t want us sitting around
imagining evil, pain, and fearful things in our future. This can prevent
us from stepping out in faith when the Lord speaks to us to do so. To
get delivered, and keep a deliverance, one will have to bring their soul
