ANOTHER NEW BROTHER JOINS CITY OF MELBOURNE E CIRCLE… The new and the long serving: Pat O’Haire (centre) City of Melbourne’s newest Brother, Con Lilley (right) a founding Brother and President Greg Lynch (left) on the celebration of Melbourne’s 350 th celebration In February, the City of Melbourne celebrated its 350 th meeting by hosting the Visitors Decanter for the third time. Area President Will Kininmonth proposed the toast to Circle congratulating its Brothers on achieving this milestone and wishing all continued growth for years to come. It was therefore appropriate for the latest Brother, Pat O’Haire to be enrolled on the meeting. Pat’s waiting period for enrolment was longer than most as upon deciding to join he took a role in the mining industry based in Western Australia. Working on a rotational shift pattern it took eight months for Pat to be in Melbourne on a scheduled Circle meeting. Pat, born in Castlebar, Co. Mayo Ireland, emigrated to Australia with his wife Connie in 1994 originally settling in Sydney before settling in Melbourne in 2000. Pat and Connie met when they both worked on the construction of the English Tunnel. Pat & Connie are members of the Parish of Nazareth, Rickett’s Point and have two children, Eilis and Will who are both at University in Melbourne. The Circle is guaranteed an interesting evening when Pat gets to speak about his lifestyle of flying to work every month for 21 days of consecutive work in temperatures generally above 40 degrees. /Brother Greg Lynch JUNE Page 50 2013
