News from City <strong>of</strong> Cairns Circle…<br />
From Left; Brother Michael, President Joe and newly enrolled Brother Mike<br />
June’s meeting was an outstanding one!!! In a unique ceremony, Brother President Joe<br />
enrolled Michael Schramm Senior into the Circle. (Now known as Brother Mike). It is normally<br />
the other way around, fathers normally enrol sons!!! Brother Mike has seen his son Brother<br />
Michael, attending Catenian Meetings <strong>of</strong> the City <strong>of</strong> Cairns Circle and decided to come along<br />
and see what it is all about. Mike is married to Glenys and used to be in the electrical retail<br />
industry before retirement, and managed a local electrical retail store for 45 years before<br />
retiring about 10 years ago. During this time he also was appointed as a director to national<br />
electrical buying group which he served for many years. Mike is also one <strong>of</strong> the few people<br />
who live in Cairns who was actually born here. Mike who retired has just taken delivery <strong>of</strong> a<br />
new Motor Caravan and he and Glenys is looking forward to spending time touring around<br />
<strong>Australia</strong>. Mike has been married to Glenys for nearly 48 years. They have four children -<br />
Michael, Julie Barry & Peter and 11 grandchildren ranging from 23 to 2 years <strong>of</strong> age.<br />
