Our meeting in May <strong>20</strong>13 had an attendance <strong>of</strong> 19 brothers (50%) with 16 apologies and three non-apologies.<br />
Brother President Tom Boyce (pictured left) presented Brother V/President John Crawford with his Treasurer’s<br />
miniature for his dedicated service over the past 7 years to keep our Circle solvent.<br />
MESSAGE FROM BROTHER PLUNKETT SWEENEY…<br />
Bro Plunkett Sweeney our founder president in 1971 is home from<br />
hospital and has said to me that his “passage to greener pastures”<br />
has been delayed! The investigations in hospital showed that he had<br />
severe diverticulitis but no cancerous growths. I spoke to him today<br />
(9587 7746) and he was in good spirits. Plunkett and his wife Joyce<br />
are from Ireland via Brighton (Hove Circle) in England but are very<br />
much Aussies except for their accents! He apologised that he could<br />
not attend the meetings but follows the Circle and brothers via the<br />
newsletters and Catena. Plunkett was born 9/02/1921 and is still a<br />
prolific reader! He is devotee <strong>of</strong> Cardinal Newman and quotes his<br />
teachings at “the drop <strong>of</strong> a hat”.<br />
