News from City of Parramatta Circle…
WELCOME STEPHEN…
The brothers of the City of Parramatta circle were delighted to enrol Stephen Moran as a new
brother at our last meeting. Stephen is the son of Brother Vic Moran, a founding brother of
the City of Parramatta Circle, and our Circle Treasurer. Stephen is married to Virginia and to
complete the family have a six-year-old daughter Natasha. Stephen is a Senior Constable in
Parramatta district of Sydney. Pictured are Stephen in the middle, flanked by Circle President
Xavier Lim and his father, Vic Moran. Naturally, as Circle Treasurer, Brother Vic ensured that
Stephen had paid his fees prior to enrolment!

Our Guest Speaker in April
We hosted Br. Bernard Buffin as our guest speaker in April. Br. Bernard works as a Chaplain at Parklea Prison,
and he gave a very informative sharing of his work with the prisoners there. Thank-you, Br. Bernard, for your
sharing, which was both informative and educational.
It was interesting that we had in the audience a Police Officer, a Solicitor and a Doctor, who all have
professional involvement in one way or other with these prisoners.
It would be interesting to see if we can have a follow up on how best to look after these offenders, as our faith
calls us to love the sinner while hating the sin … we must be compassionate without being naïve, at the same
time as tempering justice with the mercy of God.
