31st meeting of the Gold Coast Tweed Circle 357
held on 16 th April, 2013
Formal Meeting: 6:30 p.m. opened by retiring President, Brother Kevin Devine who according to
set procedure installed Brother Peter Cossins as President for the 2013/2014 term.
The following brothers were installed by the new President for the ensuing year:
Brother Andrew Denny: Vice-President
Brother Tom Lyons: Secretary
Brother John Brown: Treasurer
Brother Paul Bellhouse: Membership Officer
Brother Don McLellan: Chamberlain
Brother Keith Furniss: Marshall
Brother Stewart Meek: Registrar
Brother Errol Daranjo: Assistant Secretary
Brother Alex Lever: Assistant Registrar
A special welcome was accorded to Brother Paul Despoges from Castle Hill Circle. Brother Paul
Despoges spoke briefly about the Grand President’s tour of Australia next year and the planned
Restructure of the Catenian Association which when finalised will mean reduced costs and more
independence for the countries concerned.
During dinner, Lt Col (retired) Brian Vickery, gave members a very interesting insight into his work
with the Gurkha regiment while he was in active service. His presentation was much appreciated
by all present. The new President; Brother Peter Cossins gave a vote of thanks to Brian.
