One Heart Many Voices Catenian Help Continued…
Our assistance was recognised not only by the organisers but also by many of the delegates who
indicated their sincere appreciation to us on many occasions. As with the Proclaim 2012 Conference
we were again clearly recognisable by our signature blue polo shirts. We also had our Catenian
banner on display and received publicity in the conference booklet. In addition each delegate
received one of our pamphlets in their conference pack. We were often asked who exactly we were
and had plenty of opportunity to spread the word about Catenianism among people who showed a
real interest in us.
There were many excellent presentations at the conference and these can be accessed through the
conference website at www.mohmv.com.au. The keynote speaker was Fr Steve Bevans from
Chicago and his presentation was particularly thought provoking.
Finally…
The devotedness John Tweedie has shown to the brotherhood of the Catenians is a fine example of
what it means to be a leader. John not only made sure that there were enough brothers at cover all
the days of the conference, he also made sure that all the positions were filled each day. Not
satisfied with “she’ll be right on the day” every session’s need was covered. John leading by
example also stood at doors, walked up and down the stairs (8 flights) numerous times to ensure
that everything went smoothly.
Why does this represent true brotherly love; because John was not seeking glory for himself but for
God first and then the brotherhood in which we belong. This conference has among the delegates
the clergy that can be influential in opening new areas to the Catenians. This has been a fine
example of what the brotherhood can do and all brothers should feel that they are capable of doing
the same.
