•Wheat spider mites: Blue oat mite ( 麦圆叶爪 

螨 ); Brown wheat mite ( 麦岩螨 )

Minor Pests 

• Armyworm: oriental armyworm; 

• Wheat sawflies; 

• Wheat stem maggot; 

• Grasshopper; 

• Hydrellia chinensis ( 麦鞘毛眼水蝇 )

Major pests in winter wheat-growing 

area: soil pests; wheat aphids; wheat midges; 

wheat spider mites. 

Major pests in spring wheat-growing 

area: armyworm; wheat aphids; wheat stem 

maggot. 

Ⅰ. IPM of Wheat

1. Sowing & seedling stages 

Major pests: 

Soil pests; mites; aphids. 

Control methods: 

‣Rational crop rotation; 

‣Choosing resistant and sturdy varieties; 

‣Deeply plowing soil; 

‣Irrigating in winter and destroying weeds 

in spring;


‣ Seed insecticide treatment: 

Control soil pests: use 50% Phoxim EC 

or 40% Isofenphos_methyl EC to treat seeds 

on the basis of 0.2%-0.3% size compared to 

seed size. 

防治地下害虫 :50% 辛硫磷 EC 或 40% 甲基异硫磷 EC 拌种 , 用药 

量为种子量的 0.2%-0.3%。


‣ Seed insecticide treatment: 

Control aphids and mites: use systematic 

insecticides to treat seeds. This method can 

also control ground pests at the same time. 

防治蚜虫和螨类 : 内吸性杀虫剂进行拌种 , 并可同时兼治地下害虫。 

‣ Spraying insecticides

2. Returning green & shooting stages 

Major pests: 

Mites; armyworm; stem maggot; 


Spraying insecticides; 

Protecting natural enemies.

3. Booting & heading stages 

Major pests: 

Wheat midges; aphids; sawflies.

• Rice borers: Chilo suppressalis; Tryporyza 

incertulas; 

• Rice planthoppers: brown planthopper; 

white backed planthopper; small brown

• Rice leafhoppers: green rice leafhopper; 

white-wing leafhopper; 

• Rice skippers: Parnara guttata;

Quarantine pests: 

Potato beetle Leptinotarsa decemlineata ( 马

Phtorimaea operculella ( 马铃薯块茎蛾 ); 

Cylas formicarium ( 甘薯蚁 ( 小 ) 象甲 ).

1. Control before insemination 

‣Cleaning field: eliminate remnant 

branches and fallen leaves; destroy weeds, 

especially weeds in Solanaceae. 

‣Rational crop rotation. 

‣Plow deeply and irrigate suitably.
