HOSPICE PHARMACIA PROVIDING MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
SERVICES TO WASHINGTON, D.C. REGIONAL HOSPICE NETWORK
PHILADELPHIA –Hospice Pharmacia, a division of medication management
company excelleRx Inc., today announced an agreement to provide
pharmaceutical care services for The Hospices of the National Capital Region,
the leading regional provider of hospice care in an area that includes
Washington, D.C. and its suburbs in Northern Virginia and Prince George’s
County, Maryland.
Under the partnering agreement, Hospice Pharmacia will provide medication
management and distribution services for The Hospices, serving more than
4,200 patients and families annually. Nationwide, Hospice Pharmacia provides
hospice care for approximately 21,000 patients of nearly 300 hospices.

Hospice Pharmacia (HP) provides pharmacotherapy through two sophisticated
pharmaceutical care support centers staffed by a team of palliative care-trained
pharmacists and technicians. The HP staff focuses on helping hospice nurses
create and fulfill the medication portion of their patients’ care plans. The
company’s evidence-based, peer-reviewed Medication Use Guidelines offer
step-care approaches to palliating symptoms for hospice patients. Innovative
technology allows HP to incorporate valuable patient-specific information into the
medication care planning process.

regardless of the nature of the illness, lack of a caregiver, or the inability to pay
for their care. It is the largest hospice organization in the region and operates
Hospice of Northern Virginia, Hospice Care of DC, Hospice of Prince George’s
County, as well as the Halquist Memorial Inpatient Hospice Center in Arlington,
Va.
