Astringent, secreto-inhibitory, desiccating action on mucous membranes and wounds<br />
through constriction of the blood vessels. Catarrhal symptoms of the mucous mem-<br />
branes within the eye, oesophagus, respiratory tract, and digestive organs (gastritis<br />
with meteorism, rumbling sounds from the stomach, hemorrhagic ulcers). Tendency to<br />
develop hemorrhagic ulcers within the mucous membranes. Mastitis. Desire for sugar<br />
which is not tolerated.<br />
Irritative nervous debility with anxiety neuroses (agoraphobia). Amelioration in the cold<br />
and in fresh air. Aggravation at night and in the warmth.<br />

Arnica montana (Mountain Arnica)<br />
Arnica’s homeopathic symptoms consist of conditions such as are known as result from<br />
traumatic injuries (contusions) and wounds. The skin and the mucous membranes<br />
show due to vascular disturbances, flushing and hyperemia in conjunction with erysipelatous<br />
vesiculation and intense pruritus. Also recurrent furunculosis. Hemorrhagic<br />
tendencies (hematoma). Muscle spasms after extensive or strenuous exercise, accompanied<br />
by weakness and exhaustion. Rheumatic symp toms within the joints, muscles,<br />
tendons, and synovial sheaths. Extremities are cold, circulatory insufficiency after<br />
blood-loss. Paroxysmal cough with sanguineous secretion. Influences the vascular system,<br />
the veins and capillaries in partic ular, to increase the flow of blood within the affected<br />
region. Arnica promotes the exchange of fluids within the areas of traumatic<br />
lesion. Aggravation through touch or exercise. Amelioration while resting. Repairs the<br />
conditions after cerebral concussion.<br />
