NEW ZEALAND CERTIFICATE
IN NANNY EDUCATION
(LEVEL 5) ES0704
DURATION: Starts February for one year
STUDY: Full-time

OVERVIEW
You will not only learn how to care
for children, but also how to create a
learning environment for them and
how to guide their behaviour. This
programme is approved by NZQA and
NEONZ (Nanny Education of New Zealand)
so you graduate with a nationally and
internationally recognised qualification.
IT’S NOT ALL THEORY
Your tutors are experienced Early
Childhood Teachers and classes include
practical tasks, off-site trips and guest
tutors covering specialist topics. You
will also have the opportunity to put
your knowledge and skills into practice
completing one live-in and several live-out
placements throughout the year. These
placements are with families, child care
centres and children with Special Needs.
ENTRY CRITERIA - SUMMARY
To enter this programme you must be
17 years of age at 1 January in the year
of enrolment, demonstrate the ability
and level of maturity to complete the
programme successfully as well as
cope with the demands of working with
children, have completed a minimum of
four years secondary education with the
final year being year 12 achieving NCEA
Level 1 with a minimum of 12 literacy
credits, and show evidence of successful
study at NCEA Level 2.
Special entry may be granted to
candidates aged 20 years or over who
do not meet the entry criteria but can
demonstrate a reasonable likelihood of
success in the programme. Applicants
will attend a selection interview.
