Race Day
February
Meet in the hotel lobby at 6:30am to be picked up by the coach and taken to the race
starting area arriving around 7:15am. You will be given a boxed breakfast to take with
you to the start.
Start Area
Our experiences of running in 2014 were that the start area was exceptionally well
organised with planty of signs and marshals directing runners. The baggage trucks were
clearly labelled and waiting time was minimal.
You will be directed to your assigned block ready for the start. The blocks close prior to
the start of the race, so make sure you arrive at your starting block area with good time.
The temperatures on the start line are very cold, so make sure you are well wrapped up
with extra clothes which can be discarded as the race starts.
The Course
Distance along the course will be marked with signs every kilometre and at the half way
point. After the first 5K, fluid and fuel stations are at 2K or 3K intervals. Sports drink will
be available every 5K. The official drink is Pocari Sweat. Bananas, bread, tomato and
sweets are also provided at later stations.
Toilet facilties are located at various points along the course.
A map of the route can be found on page 9 of this participant information guide.
