Starting Your Morning Off Right Live Granola (3) This is more labor intensive than my first granola recipe in this chapter. But everything except the rolled oats is live, with the full enzyme potential of all the nuts, seeds, and grains unleashed! And you cannot buy a more delicious granola. I am warning you that this breakfast is addictive: my whole family snacks on this when I make it, even after breakfast. Put in very large bowl, cover with filtered water, and soak for 22 hours: 1½ C sunflower seeds 1½ C oat groats 1½ C pumpkin seeds 1½ C raw almonds 1½ C raw walnuts 6 C rolled oats Drain and rinse, then cover with several inches of water again and add the following to the bowl and then soak the entire mixture for 2 more hours: 1 C flax seeds 1 C sesame seeds Rinse, drain, and grind the mixture to a coarse texture with a nut chopper or food processor. Next, purée in your high-powered blender: 1 C coconut oil (liquid, container warmed in a sink of hot tap water) 1 C raw honey (raw) 2 Tbsp. vanilla extract Stir this into the seed, nut, and oat mixture. Spread on dehydrator trays and dry for 24 hours, then stir in any dried fruit you like (raisins, etc.).
