12 Steps to Whole Foods
Making Plant-Based Main Dishes * Indian Green or Yellow Dahl 1 C split peas (or yellow lentils, depending on whether you want green or yellow dahl) ¾ C brown rice water 3 cloves garlic ½ tsp. ground coriander 1 tsp. kelp granules ¾ tsp. sea salt ½ tsp. red pepper flakes ½ tsp. turmeric 1 tsp. cumin ½ C chopped cilantro In separate saucepans, rinse the split peas and brown rice well and then drain. Cover each with fresh water and allow to soak several hours, then drain well. Add 3 C of water to the rice and 4 C of water to the split peas, bring each to a boil, and then reduce the heat and simmer for 45 min. Add all the seasonings except the cilantro to split peas/lentils and mash with a spoon. Serve the dahl over the brown rice and sprinkle with the cilantro. Making Plant-Based Main Dishes<br />
