Wie sehen Ihre weiteren Pläne aus?
Seit vier Monaten habe ich einen Agenten in Hollywood.
Er bringt mich mit Produzenten und Studios in Kontakt
und sendet mir Drehbücher zu – darunter einige interessante,
sehr ansprechende Stoffe.
Wie entstand dieser Kontakt?
Per Zufall. Die Agentur entdeckte einen «Cargo»-Clip auf
einem Sciencefiction-Blog. Zwei Wochen später flog bereits
einer ihrer Agenten nach Zürich und nahm mich unter
Vertrag. Das ist natürlich eine Riesenchance für mich.
Bleibt Ihr Thema weiterhin Sciencefiction?
Unbedingt, denn mein Talent und meine Leidenschaft
sind das Erschaffen von Zukunftswelten. Mein Interesse
an Naturwissenschaften ist ungebrochen. Dank meinem
Studium habe ich eine breite Wissensbasis für mein
Hauptthemenfeld, die Symbiose zwischen Mensch und
Maschine. Es ist eine schier unerschöpfliche Quelle für
Sciencefiction-Geschichten.
Welche Zukunftspläne haben Sie?
Anfang 2010 ziehe ich für zwei Monate nach Los Angeles,
um die interessantesten Drehbuchstoffe weiter zu entwickeln
und mein Kontakt-Netzwerk auszubauen. Danach
plane ich, zwischen Zürich und L.A. hin- und herzupendeln,
zwischen Corporate- und Werbejobs in der Schweiz
und Projektentwicklung in den USA. Klappt alles, drehe
ich vielleicht bereits 2012 einen ersten Film in den USA.
Und wenn es in Hollywood nicht klappt?
Ich gehe das Ganze entspannt an, denn ich verfüge über
einen grossen Ideen-Rucksack, woraus ich mich jederzeit
bedienen kann. Auf jeden Fall werde ich immer kreativ
und im Filmbereich tätig sein, in den USA oder in welchem
Land auch immer. Hauptsache, ich kann Welten
kreieren und Geschichten erzählen.
What are your other plans?
Four months ago I got an agent in Hollywood. He puts
me in contact with different producers and studios, and
sends me screenplays. Some are very interesting and
appealing projects.
How did you meet your Hollywood agent?
By chance. The agency came across a clip of «Cargo» on a
science fiction blog. Two weeks later, one of their agents
flew to Zurich and since then they have represented me.
This is a great opportunity for me, like in a fairytale.
Will you continue to make science fiction films?
Certainly. Creating worlds of the future is my talent
and passion. My interest in natural sciences remains
undiminished and thanks to my studies, I have a solid
foundation for exploring further the symbiosis between
man and machine. This topic is a major source of
fascination for me and offers a limitless supply for more
science fiction stories.
What are your future plans?
In early 2010 I am moving to Los Angeles for two
months so I can develop the most interesting scripts
and expand my contact network. Afterwards, I plan on
commuting between Zurich and LA, doing corporate
films and commercials in Switzerland while developing
projects in the USA. If everything goes well, I intend to
make my first film in America by 2012.
What happens if it does not work out in the USA?
I am quite relaxed about the whole process since I have
a lot of other ideas in mind, which I can go back to
anytime. In any case, I will remain creative and active
in the film industry, whether in the USA or somewhere
else. The most important thing for me is to create worlds
and tell stories.
