The İstanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau, founded in 1997 as a public-private joint
venture within the framework of TUGEV, the Tourism Development and Education
Foundation, is a non-profit, non-aligned destination marketing organization.
ICVB’s members consist of İstanbul’s
leading hotels, convention
centres, exhibition centres, DMCs
and PCOs, service suppliers and
it is chaired by the Chairman of
the İstanbul Chamber of Commerce.
ICVB is an active member
of ICCA-International Congress
and Conventions Association and
ECM-European Cities Marketing.

ICVB-İstanbul Convention & Visitors
Bureau is the destination marketing
organisation and official convention
bureau of İstanbul. Since it
was founded, ICVB has effectively
represented İstanbul in the international
market and successfully
brought numerous congresses,
conventions and events to İstanbul,
while simultaneously raising awareness
of İstanbul worldwide via the
international congress industry organizations
of which it is a member.
ICVB designs all of its promotional
and marketing efforts to strengthen
İstanbul as an international conference
brand and to ensure its
continuity in the market; ICVB as
of this writing is currently pursuing
on-going efforts to develop potential
congresses for İstanbul both in
the next 10 years and beyond.
What we can do for you
ICVB, the İstanbul Convention &
Visitors Bureau is an impartial information
clearinghouse and contact
point for requests for proposals
(RFPs). In this role, the Bureau
offers a wide range of services
designed to help promote İstanbul
as a congress, meeting and incentive
destination and also to assist
organizers in creating fabulous
events in the city. ICVB offers the
following services free of charge
to help make your international
congress, corporate meeting or
incentive trip a success.

Bid Support: ICVB supports the
congress candidature process of İstanbul
by preparing the official bid,
providing promotional materials,
assisting with destination presentation
and coordinating the support of
local and national authorities. ICVB
designs bid books and PowerPoint
presentations. As a part of candidacy
process ICVB organizes site inspections
for the association representatives
and/ or meeting planners.
Venue Finding: ICVB presents İstanbul’s
meeting and incentive
venues and helps the planners to
find the venues matching their
needs. ICVB also assists planners
in collecting quotations and selection
of the venues.
Consulting & Advice: ICVB as an
intermediary between planners and
local meeting industry gives information
on services provided by
local suppliers including venues,
PCOs and DMCs. ICVB checks the
availability of the required facilities
and makes tentative bookings of
the venues and hotel rooms.
Site Inspections: ICVB arranges site
inspections at venues throughout
İstanbul and will put you in contact
with senior management to ensure
you identify the venue that best
suits your event’s requirements.
Promotional Materials: ICVB produces
a wide range of promotional
materials including the Meeting Planner’s
Guide, the online Congress Calendar,
the İstanbul Visitors’ Guide,
brochures, promotional videos and
city maps for the use of event planners,
associations and organizers.
