With its architecture, speed of passenger throughput, level of service and advanced technology, it is also one of the top airports in the world. Operated by TAV İstanbul Terminal Operations Co., a subsidiary of TAV Airports Holding since 2000, the airport is ranked as the second in the category “Best Airport of South Europe” in “The World’s Best Airports 2009 Awards” event organized by Skytrax Research, the leading research Advisors to the world airline and air transport industry based in London, UK. It has a really convenient traffic in terms of transportation with its 1.5 km connection to the TEM motorway. The Haydarpasa-Gebze Express line is in maintenance and will be available in the near future departing from Pendik Train Station where the line will be connected to Marmaray Metro and Pendik YHT High Speed Train.
