Europe’s fastest growing airport
title 4 times in its category right after
opening the new terminal building in
2009, welcomed 18.8M passengers
with a record 27% increase in 2013
and 25M passengers are expected in
2014. The airport has all the advantages
that a mature and well-qualified airport
has. It has a time-saver, straightforward
and user-friendly terminal
for both passengers and airlines. The
terminal capacity easily handles new
airlines and passengers for their needs
with a full service concept. It serves
both for the low-fare and legacy carrier
concept with broad options, handling
both domestic and international
operations under one roof, so it offers
the best transfer time in one terminal.
With this best conveniency and wide
network, İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen has
been the best option for the transfer
passengers (47% increase in 2013) and
the airport is likely to give service to
more of them in the near future.
İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen kept improving
its services within the terminal to
provide a better travelling experience
for its guests. Reputable brands are
welcomed while duty free and F&B
areas are renewed to offer more and
luxury options. Furthermore, the “Fast
Track” system has been introduced
for guests who care for their time and
want to handle their terminal procedures
faster. This system is free for all
business class passengers while other
guests can purchase the suitable
package for their needs.
İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen updated its
iOS and Android ISG app in which passengers
and all other users can check
the timetable, track flights, get info
about terminal facilities, get informed
about new campaigns and find the
best real-time transportation options
to the terminal on the map according
to where they are located.
The airport is located on the Anatolian
shore of İstanbul at Pendik / Kurtkoy,
at a distance of 40 km to Kadikoy, 12
km to Pendik and 50 km to Taksim. It
has a really convenient traffic in terms
of transportation with its 1.5 km connection
to the TEM motorway. The
Haydarpasa-Gebze Express line is in
maintenance and will be available in
the near future departing from Pendik
Train Station where the line will be
connected to Marmaray Metro and
Pendik YHT High Speed Train. In the
meantime IETT public buses serves
between Sabiha Gökcen Airport and
Kartal-Kadıköy metro where our
guests can travel by rail line.
Public transportation (IETT) departs
from Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) to
downtown İstanbul. There are many
ways to travel from Sabiha Gökçen
Airport into the several main locations
of İstanbul such as Sultanahmet, Taksim,
Eminönü (Sirkeci), Beyazıt (Laleli),
Esenler, Harem, Bakırköy, Yeşilköy,
Tuzla, by taxi, Havataş shuttles or the
public bus services (IETT).
