Yeditepe University is a foundation university which was founded
in 1996 by the İstanbul Education and Culture Foundation
(ISTEK), under Law No. 4142. Its founder is Bedrettin Dalan.
In line with Atatürk’s principles Yeditepe University carries out
its academic mission through 13 faculties entailing 60 programs:
the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Health Science,
Law, Engineering, Architecture, Education, Arts and Sciences,
Economics and Administrative Sciences, Commerce, Communication,
and Fine Arts.
The language of instruction at Yeditepe University is English.
Some programs are taught in German, Italian, and French.
Yeditepe University is the first foundation university in Turkey
which has been accredited by the Institutional Accreditation
Program of the Association of European Universities (EUA).
Yeditepe University offers its students the opportunity to obtain
double degrees and double majors at world-renowned universities.The
Faculty of Dentistry has been ranked as one of the best
dentistry faculties in Europe by the European Dentistry Association
(ADEE). At its very first inspection, Yeditepe University Hospital
was accredited by JCI, which is the most important arbiter
of health standards.
The Faculty of Law ranks as number one in the student exchange
with the USA and Europe.
The Tourism and Hotel Management Department of the Faculty
of Commerce has received the Tourism Oscar in the category
“Tourism Education” awarded by Skal International (the Association
of Tourism Professionals).
Campus facilities is an undeniably important aspect of a university

on the 26 August Campus, specially built to meet all the needs
of its students, from culture to sports.

Starting its educational background on August 22, 1911 with
the title “The Conductors (Technicians) School of Higher Education”,
Yıldız Technical University was renamed as Nafia
Fen Mektebi/School of Public Works in 1922. According to
the law number 1472 of Private Academies in 1971, the school
continued its educational life as “İstanbul State Academy of
Engineering and Architecture”. In 1982, “İstanbul State Engineering
and Architecture Academy” was integrated with
Higher Education of Engineering, Kocaeli State Academy of
Engineering and Architecture, and the relevant faculties and
departments of Kocaeli Vocational School and were all established
with the name “Yıldız University”.
Yıldız Technical University 2010 European Capital of Cultures
Congress center opened on October 5th 2010 Friday, has hosted
national and international important activities such as congress,
symposium, concerts and discussions with its specialized
technical staff and contemporary technological infrastructure.
Davutpaşa Congress Center, located close to Atatürk Airport,
“Historical Peninsula” which is the heart of history and culture of
İstanbul and touristic hotel areas, provides direct transportation
to subway, Metrobüs and Marmaray.
Also, Yıldız Technical University 2010 European Capital of
Cultures Congress Center has indoor and outdoor car park
open to all guests.
