<strong>ICT</strong> <strong>Team</strong> <strong>Leader</strong><br />
<strong>Reporting</strong> to: - <strong>ICT</strong> Manager<br />
Responsible for: <strong>ICT</strong> Officers<br />
PURPOSE: -<br />
• Manage in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high<br />
levels of availability, security of the supported business applications and the efficient<br />
operation of the company’s network, servers, databases, and equipment.<br />
• Participate in the planning and implementation of processes, policies and procedures to<br />
ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals,<br />
industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.<br />
• Manage the <strong>ICT</strong> staff and external support companies responsible for service desk,<br />
incident and problem management.<br />
• Work closely with the <strong>ICT</strong> Manager and decision makers in other departments in order<br />
to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology<br />
solutions for all aspects of <strong>Eastlands</strong> <strong>Homes</strong>.<br />
DUTIES<br />
Key tasks and responsibilities<br />
1. Manage <strong>Eastlands</strong> <strong>Homes</strong> <strong>ICT</strong> infrastructure following industry best practice.<br />
2. Ensure internal and external SLA targets are met and appropriate qualitative standards<br />
achieved.<br />
3. Provide timely report to <strong>ICT</strong> Manager and/or Director of Finance & <strong>ICT</strong>.<br />
4. Develop and implement robust processes to ensure that a high quality service is<br />
provided to <strong>Eastlands</strong> <strong>Homes</strong>.<br />
5. Design and develop an enhanced reporting structure which ensures the early<br />
identification of issues and ensures minimum risk to the business.<br />
6. Manage and coach members of the team including recruitment, supervision, scheduling,<br />
development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.<br />
7. Responsible for ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources<br />
to meet changing and increasing demands of the first and second line support service<br />
desk for all applications.<br />
8. Promote, champion and drive the use of ITIL best practices across the team.<br />
9. Recommend staffing and scheduling models to ensure guaranteed coverage to the<br />
business.<br />
10. Perform network and security audits.<br />
11. Perform and test routine system backups and restores.
12. Analyse system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance.<br />
13. Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic<br />
goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department<br />
managers.<br />
14. Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple<br />
databases, and during data transfer in accordance to business needs and industry bestpractices<br />
regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.<br />
15. Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component<br />
inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.<br />
16. Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades,<br />
patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.<br />
17. Develop, document, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated<br />
training plans for system administration and appropriate use including those for network<br />
architecture, standards, purchasing, and service provision.<br />
18. Oversee all reports and documentation related to network and systems operations.<br />
19. Develop maintenance schedules for network and systems equipment.<br />
20. Conduct system feasibility studies and testing.<br />
21. Provide end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.<br />
22. Carry out ad hoc research projects as directed.<br />
23. Deputise for the <strong>ICT</strong> Manager where appropriate and as directed.<br />
General<br />
1. To promote and implement the <strong>Eastlands</strong> <strong>Homes</strong> Equal Opportunities policy in all<br />
aspects of the post holders work and in dealings with outside bodies.<br />
2. Comply with Eastland <strong>Homes</strong>’ health, safety and welfare policy and contribute to good<br />
health and safety practice as appropriate.<br />
3. Attend such training courses, conferences and meetings as required.<br />
4. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the<br />
post.<br />
5. Changing responsibilities over time as the Association evolves to undertake new areas<br />
of work and expand its range of services. As these changes occur, it may result in the<br />
substitution of one function for another, the addition of new areas of responsibility, or<br />
changes to the way functions are carried out.<br />
