OF POSITIONS: 1 HOURS OF WORK: To be determined JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of a division or deputy director, directs the staff and activities of an operation unit responsible for providing either general administrative or fiscal management activities, program policy and planning services, or varied social, medical, assistance, health care, and other services to a specific client population; does other related work. Directs the operation of the Windows Operation System (OS) and Middleware Hosting – Enterprise, Windows OS hosting – Agency (initially, DOT), Novell OS Hosting – Agency, and Desktop Support – OIT units. Identifies and analyzes the various units’ workloads, operating policies, procedures and services, and continues to coordinate, allocate resources and develop and implement improvement plans. Directs the development and implementation of cost effective and enterprise hosting and agency infrastructure services to support the current and future strategic vision of the NJ OIT. Identifies specific needs of the client community and directs resources to meet those needs ensuring that no program initiative or internal change should occur without consideration of client impact. Based on the areas of responsibility, maintains a 99.5% to 99.9% system availability through the effective management of capacity planning and performance monitoring. MUST HAVE THESE REQUIRED SKILL SETS TO BE CONSIDERED: EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of supervisory/managerial experience and a variety of management experiences and organizational responsibilities will be required. Successful completion of the Certified Public Managers (CPM) Program will be a factor in selection. Participating in any portion of the CPM program or related programs will be considered. Evidence of major professional accomplishments is required, as is demonstrated ability in communication and leadership skills. Demonstrated managerial skills, including such factors as inter-personal skills, decision-making, problem analysis and creative thinking, administrative judgment, delegation, managerial, or financial control, interdepartmental cooperation/liaison, development of subordinates and organizational awareness are required.
