Raus!” may not move along <strong>the</strong> <strong>city</strong> wall but only along <strong>the</strong> streets. The <strong>games</strong> are similar<br />
in that both have <strong>the</strong> red center point as well as <strong>the</strong> places outside <strong>the</strong> wheel/<strong>city</strong> wall<br />
where <strong>the</strong> captured pieces have to be assembled. Finally <strong>the</strong> hats especially designed for<br />
<strong>the</strong> capturing method <strong>of</strong> “Fang den Hut”, are also used to depict <strong>the</strong> captured Jews. This<br />
clearly demonstrates that it was this harmless and successful board game that inspired <strong>the</strong><br />
anonymous author <strong>of</strong> “Juden Raus!”.<br />
Game History<br />
The facts concerning <strong>the</strong> history <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> game are few and contradictory. A search <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
state archive <strong>of</strong> Sachsen at Dresden showed that between 1935 and 1945 <strong>the</strong>re were two<br />
companies with <strong>the</strong> name Gün<strong>the</strong>r & Co., <strong>the</strong> publisher <strong>of</strong> “Juden Raus!”. One <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m<br />
had been canceled <strong>from</strong> <strong>the</strong> registry <strong>of</strong> trade by 1937. It is not known what type <strong>of</strong> com-
