ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Thanks to the ongoing support and commitment
of the ASR team and volunteer patrollers. A
special thankyou and recognition to David
Simpson, Patrol Co-ordinator and the ASR
Captains for going over and beyond what is
expected of them. The captains could not
have done their role without the support and
dedication of their ASR members. An enormous
thanks for the following people who provide
endless support behind the scenes. I am very
grateful for this team of dedicated patrollers and
to have such a great support network! THANK
YOU.
Rock2Ramp
The 2012 Rock2Ramp was the most successful yet
with over 900 entries, perfect weather conditions
and a high tide which was greatly appreciated by
the participants. The event raised over $40,000
for the Club.
The support provided by all sections of the Club
was good but, as always, we need more patrolling
members to increase the level of water safety
and allow us to rotate people out of the water.
A special thanks to those who spent a few hours
sitting on boards and ski’s providing support and
encouragement to the swimmers – a point that was
gratefully mentioned by a number of participants.
Special mentions must go to David Simpson for
managing safety across the event, Lloyd Simpson
for coordinating first aid, Dave Kennedy for
managing registrations, Jim Geary and Ingilby
Dickson for marketing and PR, Adrian McNaughton
for getting the gear there and back again, Helen
Lee-Williams and her team for feeding everyone,
and Jimpy for yet again providing security to
swimmers belongings.
A great team effort – thanks to everyone involved
and special thanks to our long time naming rights
sponsor, Burson Auto Parts. The 2013 event is on
Saturday 28th December and this year will include
a 2.5km Open swim in addition to the traditional 1.2
km event and we look forward to your assistance.
