Rescue Services Report
2012/2013 brought more sunshine and some rain
to our Anglesea summer coastal town. This year
we saw 128 new patrolling members join the
patrol scene and be part of the red and yellow!
Anglesea SLSC was the host of back to back Surf
Life Saving Victorian State Titles. It was another
successful event which received great feedback
from the Life Saving community despite the lack
of beach space at times. Yet again, clubbies
volunteered their time to ensure the smooth
running of the event as well as provide a long
weekend of diligent, active patrollers.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS
Anglesea Surf Rescue (ASR) welcomed on
board the Foundation as its premium sponsor.
The Foundation has agreed to sponsor the ASR
for 3 years. This sponsorship has allowed the
patrolling team to purchase essential patrolling
equipment as well as supplying uniforms to the
ASR team in recognition of their commitment
and ongoing service to the club and to the
public in all weather conditions – sometimes all
four seasons in the one day! The continued
support from the Foundation will allow for more
training days for the ASR members.
