Administration Report
I am pleased to report that another positive
year from the administration team with
some good highlights and positive outcomes
including improved overall service to our
members.
Firstly The Deck Café arrangements with
Amanda and Chris Gross have now completed
their second summer of our three year agreement
with many positive reviews and feedback. For
the second year in a row now we have run the
café through the quieter winter months at least
with a broad set of services across the Thursday
to Sunday period plus of course school holidays
which has allowed our members to start to now
plan and utilise these facilities at the club in a
greater way. Our plan is to continue these types
of services and we are in discussion with Chris
and Amanda to continue the improvement for
the last year of their contract and start to think
through what maybe beyond that period.
On the membership side thank you to Di again
having processed just under two thousand
memberships with many more this year received
early with payment which allowed improvements
in cash flow and online processing. We still are
not happy about the difficulty of processing
family memberships online but we will continue
to work with these with our colleagues at LSV.
Good support from Judy Sutherland which we
should also recognise. The financial results and
control of expenditure is in good shape and
Shane will report more fully on the financials
later in this report.
I would like to also recognise the good work done
on our fundraising events the Golf Day, Rock 2
Ramp and Doorknock all at or about previous
year targets with a significant administration task
being managed behind the scenes or processed
in a seamless way to ensure these important
cash flows come through to our club and are
well spent and managed.
Tina Kay at the shop has done another great
year ensuring that the level of merchandising
continues to improve with stocktake and results
showing no financial risks and an improvement
in margin contribution and hopefully the way our
club is being presented with this merchandising.
Further plans to improve our merchandising
going forward and really appreciate the work by
Tina and her staff.
Usually I report on the Green and White rag in
our club communications but our multitasked
president Peter Williams has taken on this task
and has done a fantastic job in ensuring we do
provide effective and timely communications
and at the same time making sure we use our
website where more and more people go to
seek information about the club. We can always
improve and look forward to further feedback as
it becomes more of a place to go for information
about the Anglesea Surf Club.
Otherwise we are now preparing ourselves for
AGM and then of course the important pre
summer process of ensuring our equipment
facilities and membership processes are all in
place for another big summer. Look forward to
seeing you on the beach.
