(Orange beef salad)<br />
Crispy sliced spicy fried beef with crisp<br />
lettuce and tangy, sweet orange sauce is delicious<br />
<strong>Khmer</strong> salad . Back home , due to poverty many<br />
<strong>Khmer</strong> and <strong>Khmer</strong> <strong>Krom</strong> reserves orange beef<br />
salad for special occasions or wedding. Authentic<br />
<strong>Khmer</strong> recipe used fish sauce , but you may<br />
substitute for soy sauce.<br />
• Ingredients :<br />
• ½ lb. Sirloin beef, sliced thin<br />
• 1 Tablespoon fish sauce, or soy sauce<br />
• 1 Tablespoon fresh or frozen minced lemon grass<br />
• 1 Clove garlic, minced<br />
• 1 Teaspoon sugar<br />
• 2 Chili pepper, minced (option)<br />
• 2 Tablespoons All purpose flour<br />
• 1 Cup vegetable oil for deep fried beef<br />
• ½ Cup orange juice<br />
• ½ Cup water<br />
• ½ Tablespoon fresh lime or lemon juice<br />
• 1 Tablespoon light brown sugar<br />
• 1 Teaspoon salt<br />
• 2 Tablespoons cornstarch<br />
• 1 Small yellow onion, sliced<br />
• 1 Red or green bell pepper, sliced<br />
• ½ Head of lettuce, chopped<br />
• A handful of fresh mint leaves mint leaves<br />
