MALAM ANUGERAH LJBM 2010 Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel<br />
Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia successfully organized<br />
The its Award Winner on 23rd April 2010 at Renaissance Kuala<br />
Lumpur Hotel. This event was organized in conjunction with the<br />
presentation of certificates to newly registered Quantity Surveyors and<br />
permits to practitioners approved between 2009 and 2010.<br />
The Secretary General of Kementerian Kerja Raya, Y.Bhg. Datuk Thomas<br />
George, represented the Minister of Works as Guest of Honour. The<br />
event which was attended by about 600 guests saw 38 newly registered<br />
QS and 49 QS practices being presented their certificates and permits<br />
respectively.<br />
Board members of previous session and Quantity Surveyors who had<br />
served the Board for more than 10 years were presented Certificates of<br />
Appreciation by the Guest of Honour<br />
The climax of the night was the announcement of <strong>BQSM</strong> awards to the<br />
winners :<br />
• Gold Award: Dato’ Seri Sr Md Isahak bin Md Yusof<br />
• Potential Young QS Award: Dr.Nazirah binti Zainul Abidin <strong>from</strong> Universiti<br />
Sains Malaysia<br />
• Excellent Award for QS Practice (Body Corporate): ARH Juruukur<br />
Bahan Sdn Bhd<br />
• Excellent Award for QS Practice (Sole Proprietorship/Partnership): JB<br />

‘COMPUTER APPLICATION<br />
– S-CURVE AND CASH<br />
FLOW PROJECTION IN<br />
CONSTRUCTION’<br />
the first time, <strong>BQSM</strong> and CKUB has collaborated with<br />
For DBKL to organize a CPD Program on S-Curve and Cash<br />
Flow Projection Project in Construction. The one day short course<br />
was held on the 25th May 2010 at the Computer Lab, DBKL.<br />
A total of 39 participants attended the short course which covered<br />
the following topics:-<br />
• S-Curve, Cash Flow<br />
• Spread Sheet & Ms Excel<br />
• Excel & Charting / graph.<br />
The speaker was Sr Mohd Najib bin Haji Mohd, the Director of QS<br />
Division, DBKL.<br />

SHORT COURSE ON ‘ELEMENTAL COST ANALYSIS WORKSHOP’<br />
and CKUB, JKR has once again collaborated<br />
<strong>BQSM</strong> with DBKL to organize a CPD Program at Kuala<br />
Lumpur. The workshop entitled “Elemental Cost Analysis” (ECA) was<br />
held on the 22 June 2010 at Computer lab, DBKL and attended by<br />
32 participants<br />
The workshop was held on the 22nd of June 2010 at Level 3,<br />
Computer Lab, DBKL with 32 participants attended the course.<br />
The objective of the workshop was to expose the Registered QS on<br />
how to prepare Elemental Cost Analysis.<br />
Topics covered during the workshop are as follows:<br />
• Introduction on Cost Information in CKUB.<br />
• Purpose and Usage – to obtain cost data<br />
• Principles of Analysis – The Do’s and Don’ts<br />
The course was presented by En. Husnan bin Hussin, Ketua<br />
Pengarah, Bahagian Perolehan dan Khidmat Kos, CKUB.<br />
