CLASS DESCRIPTIONS<br />

<strong>Southwest</strong> <strong>YMCA</strong><br />

Cardio<br />

BODYATTACK is a high-energy interval training class<br />

combining athletic aerobic movements with strength<br />

and stabilization exercises.<br />

Group Cycle is an aerobic/anaerobic workout on a<br />

stationary bike designed for all fitness levels.<br />

Cycling Circuit offers a 20 minute workout on the bike<br />

followed by interval circuits on wellness floor in small<br />

gym<br />

Zumba ® Fitness uses exotic rhythms set to high-energy<br />

Latin and international beats.<br />

Powerstep ® is professionally designed step program<br />

that will push your cadio to the edge into high gear.<br />

The 12-track class caters to all fitness levels by<br />

keeping it simple with athletic movements.<br />

Turbo Kick ® combines shadow boxing, kickboxing,<br />

sports drills and simple dance moves.<br />

Combo<br />

SilverSneakers ® Muscular Strength & Range of<br />

Movement (MSROM) includes a variety of exercises<br />

designed to increase muscular strength, range of<br />

movement and activities for daily living.<br />

Strength<br />

BODYPUMP is the original LES MILLS barbell<br />

class that will sculpt, tone and strengthen your<br />

entire body.<br />

Mind/Body<br />

Yoga is inspiring, energizing and calming. Breathing<br />

and relaxation exercise techniques form a complete<br />

mind and body workout.<br />

Aqua<br />

Aquacise Moderately high aerobics workout without<br />

traumatic impact to the joints. Develop in-crease<br />

muscular tone, and flexibility. No swimming<br />

experience required.<br />

Deep Water Workout A high intensity water<br />

workout with no impact on your joints. Must be<br />

comfortable in<br />

the deep water. Noodles or belts are used<br />

during class.<br />

Aqua Zumba® is a challenging, water-based<br />

workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning,<br />

and exhilarating.<br />

SilverSneakers ® Cardio Circuit combines fun with<br />

fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular<br />

endurance power with a standing circuit workout.<br />

Interval Training is a true interval class! Get your<br />

cardio workout with bursts of strength training all<br />

while working the entire body. You choose your level<br />

and intensity.<br />

Please be prepared for class by wearing appropriate clothing & shoes, showing up a few<br />

minutes early, & bringing a water bottle & sweat towel!<br />
