Below are brief descriptions of the Group Exercise<br />

classes offered at the <strong>Sarpy</strong> Community <strong>YMCA</strong>.<br />

*Classes are for those new or returning to fitness.<br />

Cardio<br />

BODYCOMBAT - A fiercely energetic program inspired by<br />

martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as<br />

Karate, Boxing, Taekwondo, Tai Chi and Muay Thai.<br />

Group Cycling - An aerobic/anaerobic workout on a stationary<br />

bike designed for all fitness levels.<br />

*Low-Impact Zumba ® -This upbeat class combines the moves<br />

and music of dance with the cardiovascular power of aerobics.<br />

Step II…is a popular class for both men and women looking to<br />

challenge themselves with an intense workout using the step,<br />

weights, and bands.<br />

Zumba ® - is a blend of hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow<br />

moves to create a dynamic, fun-filled workout class.<br />

Strength<br />

BODYPUMP - The original LES MILLS barbell class, will<br />

sculpt, tone and strengthen your entire body.<br />

Core Strength - Target and tone core muscles to help build<br />

stronger abdominals and a healthier lower back.<br />

Combo<br />

Step/Circuit - A great workout combining interval step/cardio<br />

training and weight lifting.<br />

*SilverSneakers® - Have fun and move to the music through a<br />

variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength,<br />

range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held<br />

weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball<br />

are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or<br />

standing support.<br />

*Low-Impact - A class for all fitness levels. Everyone will<br />

benefit from this low-impact, fat-burning workout that is easy<br />

on your joints and great for your body.<br />

Ultimate Strength & Cardio- Enjoy an interval workout for<br />

muscular strength, endurance and cardiovascular systems that<br />

focus on functional training utilizing weights, body weight and<br />

variable resistance.<br />

Mind/Body<br />

Pilates - Optimize your strength, endurance, flexibility and<br />

posture through core conditioning.<br />

Pilates/Yoga - A combination of Matwork Pilates and Hatha<br />

Yoga. Gain a better sense of physical awareness, enhance<br />

muscle condition and core stability as you challenge your body<br />

as well as your mind.<br />

Power Yoga - Designed for students with some yoga<br />

experience, this is a fast-paced, challenging practice that builds<br />

stamina and strength through a series of flowing poses.<br />

Students should be comfortable coming quickly into standing<br />

poses with good alignment<br />

*Yoga - Improve flexibility/muscular range of motion through<br />

stretching, breathing, and relaxation techniques.<br />

NEED TO BE 15+ IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE <strong>GROUP</strong> <strong>EXERCISE</strong> CLASSES!<br />

Family Group Exercise Classes:<br />

*Family Zumba: Wendesdays 5:30-6:00pm & Fridays 4:30-<br />

5:00pm; The whole family is invited!<br />

Family Taekwondo...Ages 6+<br />

A Korean self-defense form that teaches courtesy,<br />

integrity, perseverance, self-control and strong spirit.<br />

Wellness Programs to Register For KIDS:<br />

Jr. Trainers…Ages 10-15<br />

Children must have this training or Jr. Trainer Personal<br />

Trainer in order to use the Wellness Center to learn about<br />

rules, proper use of the equipment, muscles, & technique.<br />

Tuesdays @ 5:00pm 4 wks/$30/mem<br />

Jr. Trainer /Personal Trainer…Ages 10-15<br />

One on one Jr. Trainers course that you schedule at your<br />

convenience. See Wellness staff to schedule.<br />

1session $40/Members $60/Non-member<br />

Wellness Programs to Register For ADULTS:<br />

Bootcamp:<br />

It is time to change up that workout to receive maximum<br />

results! This workout will give you a great calorie burn and<br />

sweat! Your group will meet twice per week for 8 weeks to<br />

help hold you accountable! Next session begins June 17.<br />

Members—$10/session for 16 sessions<br />

Non members—$12.50/session for 16 sessions<br />

Livestrong at the Y<br />

Free 12-week group training program designed for cancer<br />

survivors. The program includes cardiovascular exercise,<br />

strength training, flexibility training and balance exercises.<br />

Next session begins in August. Contact Heidi for more<br />

information.<br />

Personal Training and Small Group Personal Training<br />

Whether you are new to exercise or tired of the same<br />

boring routine, one of our personal trainers can help you!<br />

We offer a variety of packages ranging from 30-minute to<br />

60-minute sessions. We offer individual, couple, and small<br />

group personal training.<br />

Fit Checks<br />

Fit Checks are available FREE to all adult members every<br />

month. Fit Checks include: Weight, Body Mass Index, Body<br />

Fat Percentage, and Blood Pressure. 3rd Thursday of the<br />

month—for times, please contact the branch.<br />

Group Exercise Class Cancellation/Changes<br />

All group exercise classes and instructors are subject to cancellation<br />

or change due to the following: low participation, class format<br />

request or need, instructor availability, change in time. Your<br />
