<strong>2012</strong> At a Glance<br />

All <strong>of</strong> our work is done within our unique Community Capacity Building Peer Model. It provides<br />

the framework for how we operate. What we do fits within our three strategic areas:<br />

Connect With Others<br />

We provided 144 workshops<br />

for 1,194 women.<br />

Women dropped in to the<br />

<strong>Centre</strong> to connect with<br />

others and build community<br />

9,711 times.<br />

1,029 women attended<br />

various groups at the <strong>Centre</strong><br />

such as Community Kitchen<br />

and Practice English.<br />

Work For Change<br />

We wrote a position paper<br />

on how the Province could<br />

assist women in<br />

poverty and met with 13<br />

<strong>Calgary</strong> members <strong>of</strong> the<br />

legislative assembly, 3<br />

ministers and 2 associate<br />

ministers.<br />

We held 43 workshops on<br />

diversity, women’s issues and<br />

public policy.<br />

We provided 69 Legal<br />

Advice Clinics accessed by<br />

more than 200 women.<br />

We made 10,694 peer<br />

support, information and<br />

follow-up contacts.<br />

We participated in and/<br />

or hosted 16 community<br />

meetings to develop policy<br />

input for initiatives such<br />

as the <strong>Calgary</strong> Poverty<br />

Reduction Initiative and<br />

the provincial Social Policy<br />

Framework.<br />
