needs referrals to other

Centre to use computers,

2012 At a Glance
All of our work is done within our unique Community Capacity Building Peer Model. It provides
the framework for how we operate. What we do fits within our three strategic areas:
Connect With Others
We provided 144 workshops
for 1,194 women.
Women dropped in to the
Centre to connect with
others and build community
9,711 times.
1,029 women attended
various groups at the Centre
such as Community Kitchen
and Practice English.
Work For Change
We wrote a position paper
on how the Province could
assist women in
poverty and met with 13
Calgary members of the
legislative assembly, 3
ministers and 2 associate
ministers.
We held 43 workshops on
diversity, women’s issues and
public policy.
We provided 69 Legal
Advice Clinics accessed by
more than 200 women.
We made 10,694 peer
support, information and
follow-up contacts.
We participated in and/
or hosted 16 community
meetings to develop policy
input for initiatives such
as the Calgary Poverty
Reduction Initiative and
the provincial Social Policy
Framework.
