56 world language students from <strong>Country</strong> <strong>Day</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sacred</strong> <strong>Heart</strong> attained national recognition<br />

for excellent performance on <strong>the</strong> 2012 National Latin Exam, National French Contest, and National<br />

Spanish Examinations.<br />

“Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on <strong>the</strong> National Spanish Examinations is very<br />

prestigious,” said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Exams, “because <strong>the</strong> (Spanish)<br />

exams are <strong>the</strong> largest <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir kind in <strong>the</strong> United States with 143,641 students participating in 2012.”<br />

Students from <strong>Sacred</strong> <strong>Heart</strong> have a long hi<strong>story</strong> <strong>of</strong> high achievement on national language exams and<br />

were taught by Latin teacher James Dalton, Spanish teacher Corina Sylvia and French teacher Trish<br />

Heeney.<br />
