Day 2 Tuesday 4 th September<br />
The tour crossed the bridge from Skye to Kyle <strong>and</strong> met Andrea Matheson, from the<br />
Local Learning Partnership <strong>and</strong> Julie Cavanagh from the Education Business<br />
Partnership in the Seafood Restaurant in the railway station. Andrea <strong>and</strong> Julie<br />
explained how they had set up with the help of a SCDP grant <strong>and</strong> run the mobile<br />
demonstration kitchen on Skye.<br />
The tour then made its way through the Highl<strong>and</strong>s to Laggan, home of Monarch of the<br />
Glen. Betty Nicolson who works in Laggan <strong>Community</strong> Stores told the participants<br />
about the history of the store <strong>and</strong> the involvement of the community in keeping the store<br />
open. Lunch was bought from the store <strong>and</strong> the participants ate it <strong>and</strong> wrote postcards<br />
in the sun on the tables in front of the store.<br />

The long journey was then made to Buckie where the tour stayed in the Old Coach<br />
House Hotel.<br />
