LONDONEWCASTLE DEPOT<br />

Introduction<br />

The <strong>Londonewcastle</strong> Depot is located just off City Road between Islington and Old<br />

Street in Central London. The warehouse extends to nearly 8,000 sq.ft on the ground<br />

floor and can be utilised for a variety of events; including (but not limited to)<br />

exhibitions, galleries, fashion shows, showroom(s), launch events, pop-up restaurants,<br />

etc (subject to obtaining the necessary licenses, where appropriate).<br />

<strong>Londonewcastle</strong> is committed to involving the community as a whole, and welcomes<br />

proposals for the use of the space from all elements of London’s wider creative<br />

community.<br />

The <strong>Londonewcastle</strong> Depot is situated close to the Victoria Miro Gallery just north<br />

of City Road between Angel and Old Street underground stations. The address is:<br />

1-3 Wenlock Road,<br />

It is a warehouse space with a yard to the frontage that is accessed via gates on<br />

Micawber Street and Wenlock Road.


The Depot is on the corner of Micawber Street and Wenlock Road.<br />

Planning<br />

The building has planning permission for Class B1 and B8 usage, between the hours<br />

of 9am to 8pm everyday.<br />

Proposal Requirements<br />

Any party wishing to use the <strong>Londonewcastle</strong> Depot must submit a detailed proposal<br />

outlining how they wish to use the space; including:<br />

- Outline of the content and merit of the proposed event/ exhibition, including<br />

title, exhibitors, curator, visuals, as relevant<br />

- Details of Preview/ Private View(s): dates, times, numbers, beverage<br />

sponsorship(s), catering, etc, as relevant<br />

- Proposed dates and opening hours to the public<br />

- Preferred length of run<br />

- Details on how the project will be run throughout the duration<br />

- Sponsorship or partnership details, as relevant


- Proposed promotional and media channels, materials and plans<br />

- Issues that may prevent the event/ exhibition from happening<br />

The more detailed the proposal, the easier it is for our selection panel to make an<br />

informed decision as to whether to grant use of the space.<br />

Exhibitor Requirements<br />

There is no fee charged by <strong>Londonewcastle</strong> for use of the Depot. However, to ensure<br />

the safety and integrity of the space, approval of any proposal by an applicant (referred<br />

henceforth as the ‘Exhibitor’) is subject to these fixed conditions:<br />

1. Prior to commencement of an event, entry and exit dates will be agreed. These<br />

dates must be strictly adhered to, any failure to exit on the agreed date and time<br />

could incur financial penalties.<br />

2. The Exhibitor is responsible for ensuring that the <strong>Londonewcastle</strong> Depot is<br />

returned to <strong>Londonewcastle</strong> in the state that it was received. This may include the<br />

necessity for re-decorating the walls, making good any damage to the space,<br />

cleaning etc.<br />

3. The Exhibitor must provide proof of adequate public liability insurance to<br />

<strong>Londonewcastle</strong> for the duration of their use.<br />

4. <strong>Londonewcastle</strong> will nominate a reputable security firm who must be engaged by<br />

the Exhibitor for private views and evening events aft 6pm. This is to ensure the<br />

safety of the building and its occupants. The cost of the security firm will be<br />

payable by the Exhibitor - these costs must be agreed and confirmed prior to the<br />

commencement of the event by the Exhibitor. The security company is Nice and<br />

Secure – speak to Jeff Formica for a quotation.<br />

5. <strong>Londonewcastle</strong> reserves the right to promote the <strong>Londonewcastle</strong> Depot and the<br />

events held within through various press and media outlets. Exhibitors will be<br />

expected to assist and co-operate with any marketing or PR requests; including,<br />

but not limited to, logo usage on all materials, press release approval and e-vite<br />

distribution and PV guest lists.<br />

Further logistical details will be outlined should a proposal be approved by our<br />

selection panel.

<strong>Londonewcastle</strong> supports an urban art programme by providing a large canvas for<br />

local, regional, national and international artists; established, emerging, infamous or<br />

just unknown. This is a rolling programme based on merit. For further details contact<br />
