LONDONEWCASTLE DEPOT
Introduction
The Londonewcastle Depot is located just off City Road between Islington and Old
Street in Central London. The warehouse extends to nearly 8,000 sq.ft on the ground
floor and can be utilised for a variety of events; including (but not limited to)
exhibitions, galleries, fashion shows, showroom(s), launch events, pop-up restaurants,
etc (subject to obtaining the necessary licenses, where appropriate).
Londonewcastle is committed to involving the community as a whole, and welcomes
proposals for the use of the space from all elements of London’s wider creative
community.

The Londonewcastle Depot is situated close to the Victoria Miro Gallery just north
of City Road between Angel and Old Street underground stations. The address is:

It is a warehouse space with a yard to the frontage that is accessed via gates on
Micawber Street and Wenlock Road.

The Depot is on the corner of Micawber Street and Wenlock Road.

Planning
The building has planning permission for Class B1 and B8 usage, between the hours
of 9am to 8pm everyday.
Proposal Requirements
Any party wishing to use the Londonewcastle Depot must submit a detailed proposal
outlining how they wish to use the space; including:
- Outline of the content and merit of the proposed event/ exhibition, including
title, exhibitors, curator, visuals, as relevant
- Details of Preview/ Private View(s): dates, times, numbers, beverage
sponsorship(s), catering, etc, as relevant
- Proposed dates and opening hours to the public
- Preferred length of run
- Details on how the project will be run throughout the duration
- Sponsorship or partnership details, as relevant

- Proposed promotional and media channels, materials and plans
- Issues that may prevent the event/ exhibition from happening
The more detailed the proposal, the easier it is for our selection panel to make an
informed decision as to whether to grant use of the space.
Exhibitor Requirements
There is no fee charged by Londonewcastle for use of the Depot. However, to ensure
the safety and integrity of the space, approval of any proposal by an applicant (referred
henceforth as the ‘Exhibitor’) is subject to these fixed conditions:
1. Prior to commencement of an event, entry and exit dates will be agreed. These
dates must be strictly adhered to, any failure to exit on the agreed date and time
could incur financial penalties.
2. The Exhibitor is responsible for ensuring that the Londonewcastle Depot is
returned to Londonewcastle in the state that it was received. This may include the
necessity for re-decorating the walls, making good any damage to the space,
cleaning etc.
3. The Exhibitor must provide proof of adequate public liability insurance to
Londonewcastle for the duration of their use.
4. Londonewcastle will nominate a reputable security firm who must be engaged by
the Exhibitor for private views and evening events aft 6pm. This is to ensure the
safety of the building and its occupants. The cost of the security firm will be
payable by the Exhibitor - these costs must be agreed and confirmed prior to the
commencement of the event by the Exhibitor. The security company is Nice and
Secure – speak to Jeff Formica for a quotation.
5. Londonewcastle reserves the right to promote the Londonewcastle Depot and the
events held within through various press and media outlets. Exhibitors will be
expected to assist and co-operate with any marketing or PR requests; including,
but not limited to, logo usage on all materials, press release approval and e-vite
distribution and PV guest lists.
Further logistical details will be outlined should a proposal be approved by our
selection panel.

Urban Art Programme
Londonewcastle supports an urban art programme by providing a large canvas for
local, regional, national and international artists; established, emerging, infamous or
just unknown. This is a rolling programme based on merit. For further details contact
