Reports of summary executions<br />
<strong>HRCP</strong> was grieved to learn that soon after the return of their team, six FC soldiers were injured by the<br />
explosion of a land mine. Three of them succumbed to their injuries and passed away in Sui hospital the same<br />
evening, on January 11 th , 2006.<br />
The facts were then verified by both sides. It was also learnt and confirmed by <strong>HRCP</strong> through independent<br />
sources, that at the Pattar Nala, the FC raided a hamlet and burnt down some homes. On their return, three FC<br />
soldiers were injured by the explosion of a land mine. While the soldiers were transported to Sui hospital, a<br />
raid was conducted on the same hamlet, which had already been burnt. Those living there were preparing to<br />
leave out of fear, but the FC apprehended 12 local men and took them to the FC headquarter, Dera Bugti.<br />
Around four in the evening, news came of the death of three of the injured FC soldiers. It is reported, that<br />
enraged by this news, the FC officials summarily executed all 12 persons in their custody. They then sent for<br />
their families to collect the dead bodies. Some women dared to go but were sent back and asked to send their<br />
male family members. Finally four days later, on January 15th, 2006 two old men of the tribe, Muhammad<br />
Murad son of Sakib Khan and Malang son of Wazir Khan were sent to do the job. They too did not return.<br />
The next day all 14 bodies were handed to the Tehsildar, Dera Bugti, who delivered the bodies to their families.<br />
The names of the 12 men killed earlier are; Gulu s/o Muhammad Murad, Kamal s/o Wazir Khan,<br />
Qadir Bux s/o Murad, Said Ali s/o Murad, Razi s/o Badu Khan, Ghulam Hussain s/o Badu Khan, Lai Bux s/<br />
o Maujan, Lai Mohammad s/o Moujan, Mamir s/o Lai Muhammad, Amir Khan s/o Sher Khan, Zarin s/o<br />
Malang and Tao s/o Lai Bux.<br />
Arrests and take over of Bugti House, Sui<br />
After the departure of the <strong>HRCP</strong> team, the DCO Dera Bugti forcibly took possession of the Bugti<br />
House in Sui, where the team members and journalists had spent the night 12a . The house was some to ten<br />
minutes drive away from the PPL compound.<br />
All the domestic staff was arrested along with the tehsil Nazim, who protested against the take over.<br />
Till the writing of this report it could not be confirmed if any of them had been released.
