LETS
The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa is committed to providing the highest standard
begins with taking care of our surroundings. In an effort to sustain valuable natural
resources we have implemented the following green initiatives throughout the resort.
HOUSEKEEPING
when guests place the “Help Us Conserve” card on the bed. The same card also
advises guests that towels will only be replaced if left on ground
• Top Down program in rooms. When Housekeepers clean a room, if the pull over
sheet is still clean, they will utilize that sheet to cover the bed. The sheet that
covers the bed will be the only sheet changed. This reduces linen washing,
saving energy and water
• Used linen is recycled and used by maintenance to cover areas for painting or
other dirty work. Recycling receptacles are located in every guest room and in
common areas.
• Automatic light sensor switches have been placed in housekeeper’s closets and
electrical room to ensure that the lights are out when no one is around
• Housekeepers turn off lights and open drapes in unoccupied rooms
• Partially used Shampoo/Conditioner/Soap are donated to area homeless
• Water Watch Dog: Sheraton Maui engineering monitors daily meter readings
for Domestic and Irrigation water usage. A big change in water readings can
immediately show if there is a leak or break in a line on property, allowing us a
quicker response to save water
• On site Rain Bird Maxicom Weather Control Station monitors rainfall, solar
radiation and wind speeds. Property irrigation is adjusted daily accordingly
• InnCom monitors and controls air conditioning settings based on room
occupancy and front /sliding lanai door position
specialized cooling practices
