While Suda’s floral subject matter is not exactly new, and the technique of polychrome
on wood is an ancient one, his particular innovation lies in the subtle placement of
these works and in the gentle reactions they elicit in the observer. Minimalist in tone,
the spatial environments that Suda creates are both calming and surprising in effect.

Nasubi Gallery began in April 1993 as a milk box painted white inside - ‘the smallest
gallery in the world’, located on the street in front of the long-established rental gallery,
Nabisu Gallery in Ginza. Exhibitions by different artists were held at Nasubi Gallery over
the next two years. The gallery's activities were suspended in Dec. 1995 but resumed
in 1997 with Ozawa's participation in the international travelling exhibition Cities on the
Move. The work was shown under the title ‘New Nasubi Gallery’ in locations including
Vienna, Bordeaux, London, Aachen, Copenhagen and Berlin. - Ota Fine Arts, Tokyo.
