1. Engine Oil Level - Visual Check<br />
A. General<br />
(1) This task gives the procedure to do the check of the engine oil level.<br />
B. Job Set-Up<br />
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE AIRCRAFT IS IN A SAFE<br />
CONDITION BEFORE YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE<br />
PROCEDURES. THIS IS TO PREVENT INJURY TO<br />
PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.<br />
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE WILL BE NO ACCIDENTAL<br />
OPERATION OF THE ENGINES. AN ACCIDENTAL<br />
OPERATION OF THE ENGINES CAN CAUSE INJURY TO<br />
PERSONS.<br />
(1) Wait for a minimum of ten minutes to elapse after engine shutdown before<br />
doing the oil level check.<br />
NOTE: If the engine oil system is empty following a draining operation<br />
or if the engine has been newly installed after an overhaul, fill<br />
the engine oil tank before checking the engine oil level (GHSH<br />
TASK 12-12-00-612-801-A/300).<br />
(2) Put the workstand in the work area.<br />
(3) Open the oil service door (Figure 301).<br />
C. Engine - Oil Level Check<br />
WARNING: OBEY ALL POWERPLANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS. IF<br />
YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL DURING THE POWERPLANT<br />
MAINTENANCE, INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR<br />
DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.<br />
WARNING: DO NOT LET JET FUEL AND LUBRICATING OILS TOUCH<br />
YOU. THESE FLUIDS CAUSE INJURY TO THE SKIN.<br />
(1) Do a check of the engine oil level. through the oil level sight glass mounted<br />
on the outboard side of the AGB (Acessory Gear Box).<br />
(2) If the engine oil level is not visible in the visual oil level sight glass, check<br />
the engine for external oil leaks and do repairs as necessary. If no evidence<br />
of an external oil leak is found, please use the contact information<br />
given in the GHSH Introduction for the applicable maintenance action.<br />
(3) If the engine oil level is between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks, no further<br />
action is required.<br />
(4) If oil tank contents are visible but below the "MIN" mark in the visual oil<br />
level indicator and there is no indication of excessive oil consumption, add<br />
HARD COPY IS UNCONTROLLED. ONCE PRINTED, THIS PAGE MUST NOT BE RETAINED FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.<br />
BEFORE USING, MAKE SURE THIS HARD COPY IS THE LATEST ISSUE.<br />
