(b) Apply the solution with a spray bottle, soft-bristle brush, or cotton cloth. (c) Spray the solution on the surface. Rub the surface with a clean cloth or sponge. Do not permit excess to run off to adjacent surfaces. Make sure that no excess comes into contact with porous surfaces. (d) Rub the dirty area as necessary and repeat the application of the solution to remove contamination. (e) Rinse the surface with a fresh sponge or a cloth dampened with clean water to remove residue. (f) Dry the surface with a clean, dry cotton cloth. K. Ultrasuede - Cleaning (1) Do the regular maintenance as follows: (a) Vacuum the carpet to remove all loose particles. (b) To prepare the Ultrasuede cleaning-solution refer to the manufacturer's instructions. EFFECTIVITY: ALL NOTE: You can remove stains with detergent. Use denatured alcohol or a mild cleaning fluid when required. Refer to Table 302. (c) Apply it to the surface while you use a medium-bristle brush lightly. (d) Let the cleaned area dry. (e) Vacuum it to complete the cleaning. (2) Clean the everyday stains as follows: (a) Lightly use a spatula and a wiper to clean the area. (b) Prepare a solution of water and mild detergent. NOTE: You can remove stains with detergent. Use denatured alcohol or a mild cleaning fluid when required. Refer to Table 302. (c) Lightly apply it to the surface with a medium-bristle brush. (d) Repeat the operation until the surface is fully cleaned. (e) Remove the Ultrasuede cleaning solution with a cloth and water. (f) Use a heat gum to dry the area or dry naturally by air. (2) Extremely tough stains: (a) Lightly use a spatula and a wipe to clean the area. (b) Clean stains (grease, etc.) with a lint-free cloth soaked in solvent MIL- PRF-680 Type I or equivalent. (c) Lightly apply it to the surface with a medium-bristle brush. (d) Repeat the operation until the surface is fully clean. (e) Prepare the neutral detergent solution (refer to the manufacturer's instructions) and apply foam with a lint-free cloth. Lightly wipe with circular movements. (f) Remove all detergent with a lint-free cloth soaked in clean water. GROUND HANDLING AND SERVICING HANDBOOK (3) To remove a specific stain from Ultrasuede, use these materials indicated in the table to do a spot treatment: Table 302 - Ultrasuede - Spot Treatment STAIN Coffee, Tea, Bear, Wine, Liquor, Milk, Ketchup, Steak Sauce. Mayonnaise, Butter, Salad Oil, Chocolate, Cosmestic Foundation, Lipstick, Face Cream, Suntain Oil/Lotion, ball Point Pen (Ink), Shoe Polish, Urine Machine Oil L. Painted Surfaces - Cleaning (1) Apply neutral detergent to the dirty area with a soft cloth. (2) Rub the surface with a soft clean soaked in clean water to remove the detergent. (3) Rub the surface dry with a soft clean cloth. CAUTION: DO NOT USE CHLORINATED AND FLUORCARBON SOL- VENTS IN AREAS PAINTED WITH WATER-BASE PAINTS. (4) If necessary, rub the surface with a cloth dampened with solvent (per MIL- PRF-680 Type I or equivalent). (5) Apply neutral detergent to the dirty area with a soft cloth. (6) Rub the surface with a soft clean cloth soaked in water to remove the detergent. (7) Rub the surface dry with a soft clean cloth. M. Decals - Cleaning Detergent. SPOT TREATMENT STEP 1 Detergent and denatured alcohol Denatured alcohol CAUTION: DO NOT USE ORGANIC SOLVENTS (METHYL-KETONE, ALCOHOL, CHLORINATED SOLVENTS, FLUORINATED SOLVENTS, ETC.). THE MATERIAL IS NOT RESISTANT TO ORGANIC SOLVENTS. (1) Rub the decal with a soft clean cloth soaked in neutral detergent (Refer to the manufacturer's instructions). (2) Remove all detergent with a soft cloth soaked in clean water. (3) Rub the surface dry with a soft clean cloth. HARD COPY IS UNCONTROLLED.
