BREATHE ITS VAPORS OR MISTS. DO THE PROCEDURE IN AN AREA WITH A GOOD AIRFLOW. PUT ON SAFETY CLOTHES, GOGGLES, AND GLOVES. CAUTION: FROM THE INSTALLATION OF THE CARPET, VACUUM THE CARPET ONCE A WEEK MINIMUM TO REMOVE SOIL AND OTHER PARTICLES BEFORE THEY ARE EMBEDDED INTO THE PILE OF THE CARPET. IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, VACUUM THE CARPET MORE FREQUENTLY. (1) Do a regular cleaning as follows: (a) Remove all loose particles from the carpet with a vacuum cleaner. NOTE: Move the vacuum cleaner slowly to allow time for dirt removal. (b) Do not let the dust bag be more than half full. NOTE: You cannot over-vacuum. (c) Prepare the carpet cleaning-solution. Refer to the manufacture's instructions. (d) Apply it to the surface while you use a soft-bristle brush lightly. (e) Let the cleaned area dry. (f ) Clean the area with a vacuum cleaner to complete the cleaning. (2) Remove the general spots as follows: (a) Blot spills with white paper towels or a clean absorbent cloth. (b) Use a polyethylene spatula and a lint-free cloth to lightly clean the area. (c) Do a visual check to see if the spot was removed. CAUTION: BEFORE YOU APPLY CLEANING CHEMICAL TO THE CARPET, DO A TEST FOR COLORFASTNESS IN A SAMPLE OR IN A PART OF THE CARPET THAT CAN- NOT BE EASILY SEEN. CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT ALL SOLUTIONS HAVE PH BETWEEN 4 AND 7. CAUTION: DO NOT SQUIRT SOLVENT INTO THE CARPET, IT CAN DISSOLVE THE BACKING MATERIALS. (d) Prepare the carpet cleaning solution. Use the treatments given in Table 301 to soak the area to remove the dirty spots. NOTE: • Use the manufacturer's instructions. • Use the same order of treatment as given in Table 301.
