croeso!
Welcome to our new catalogue, which includes titles
hope you’ll find plenty to interest and excite you.
The variety of titles shown vindicates our claim to be Wales’
liveliest publishers. We were established in the fun-loving,
anti-establishment Sixties – our name Y Lolfa means ‘lounge’
or ‘fun-place’ – but producing good books of Welsh interest
remains our priority. Our range now includes history, politics,
humour as well as our best-selling Welsh language tutors.
Recently we have ventured into biographies and it’s been a
privilege to publish the stories of some of Wales’s most eminent
sport personalities including Ashley Williams, Dai Morris,
Nigel Owens and Lynn Howells as well as some of the nation’s
most loved characters such as Chris Needs, Howard Marks and
Owen Money.
Alongside our publishing business, we also run a busy print
While always happy to promote all things Welsh, we have to
admit that it is a Scottish author, Alasdair Gray, who expressed
it perfectly. His words of advice are engraved on a wall of the
Scottish Parliament: “Work as if you live in the early days of a
better nation.”
