1% population. All shall have the
right to govern as per the policy of
autonomy under autonomy based on

Opportunities
• Apples of Mustang, Musk deer and
sheep in the Himalayan region,
production of wool, Yarchagumba
(Cordyceps Sinensis), Panch-aunle
(Dactylorhiza Hatagirea) and other
herbs can be exported to Tibet
and India.
• Similarly in hilly areas, income can
be generated from orange farming
in Tanahu, Gorkha and Syangja
districts, and vegetable farming in
other districts, including Kaski.
• Foreign exchange can be earned
from the influx of domestic
and foreign tourists after the
completion of the currently
proposed International Airport
in Pokhara, which would be the
capital or headquarters of the
proposed State.
• For this, entrepreneurs will have to
be allowed to operate well-managed
hotels/lodges in the trekking routes
including in Pokhara.
• To constitute and develop mothers’
groups and youth organizations
in tourist villages like Sirubari
in Gorkha, Lamjung, Tanahun,
Manang, and Mustang districts.
• Youths will get jobs if Rupa lake,
Begnas lake and Tilicho lake are
developed as a tourist destinations
like Fewa lake.
• If Annapurna Conservation
Area is kept free of poaching
and developed into a centre of
attraction for the tourists, hotels
and lodges would increase and
thereby enhance the possibility of
earning foreign currency.
• Improvement in transportation
services to the villages and
communities, conservation of
forest by forming mothers’ groups
and mobilizing youth groups and
opening of rural museums and
required hotels should be done.
• Since the proposed Tamu Hyule
(Gurung State) is also not poor in
water resources, the state treasury
can be strengthened through
hydropower production. Examples
at present are the Pokhara Fewa
Lake, Jomsom, Syangja Seti
Confluence, Chame, Marsyangdi,
Andhi Khola, Arughat.
• Establishing view towers in
Pokhara Kahun Danda, Kolma
Baharachour and Panchse lake
will help increase domestic and
foreign tourists and thereby
increase income for the State.
• The sites of religious and cultural
importance such as Muktinath
temple, Manakamana temple,
Dudhapokhari, Khol Sopren Tyho,
Alamdevi temple, etc. and other
sites of touristic and cultural
importance can be maintained for
tourists and pilgrims.
• Similarly, there are mines in
the proposed Tamu Hyule, for
example, the possibility to extract
10 million tons of iron in Labdi
Khola, Tanahu. Similarly there is
also possibility of iron mining in
Dhorkhani of Tanahu, Dhulakot of
Prawat, and Sekham of Syangja.
Similarly, there is possibility of
copper mining in Pandi Khola
