IF THE FUTURE
COULD CHOOSE
WORLD CLASS
ELECTROLYSERS
NEL A electrolysers, hydrogen plants based on water electrolysis technology with
atmospheric pressure, are considered world class. With more than 85 years of
experience in the field of electrolysis together with sustained efforts in research and
development, we have managed to reach today’s unique technology. The NEL A
electrolyser is well recognised for its robustness, reliability and energy efficiency.
With these features our technology sets a benchmark for others to follow. Add
flexibility, ease-of-use, high-capacity and safety to your list of decisive criterias,
and you will find that we provide a solution second to none.
RELIABLE H2 SUPPLY
Independence – With our on-site
electrolyser plant, you are in control
of your own supply of hydrogen
Reliable production – The most
proven electrolyser technology on the
market. Designed over decades for
unmanned, reliable and problem-free
production of hydrogen.
Continuous production – Non-stop
production for years without any
need for maintenance shut-down.
A replacement of the cell stack
would typically be required after
approximately 10 years.
Variety of applications - From
edible oil to float glass and galvanizing
steel lines, NEL A electrolysers serve
a number of applications where the
hydrogen is highly critical for the
process of the plant.
HIGH FLEXIBILITY
H 2 on-demand – Quick start-up and
shut-down of the plant allows for
hydrogen production according to
demand.
Operational range – Automatically
adjusted production between 20 and
100% of the installed capacity.
Upscale of capacity – The modular
concept may be pre-designed for
future expansion of capacity.
COST-EFFICIENT SOLUTION
Energy efficient - The NEL A
electrolyser use a special catalytic
coating that provides the most
energy efficient electrolyser in the
market, reducing the operating costs
to a minimum.
Labour efficient – With our
advanced PLC control system,
the plant runs automatically and
unattended. Only routine shift
inspections are required.
Maintenance efficient – The plants
are designed for minimum
maintenance, with annual maintenance
costs typically being only 1-2% of the
total investment.
Lifetime Efficient – NEL A electrolysers
have a lifetime of 30-40 years - or
even more. This makes the total lifecycle
costs of our plants competitive with
any hydrogen sourcing alternative.

IF THE FUTURE
COULD CHOOSE
THE WORLD IS CHANGING. The worldwide increase in energy demand, combined
with the challenge of reducing the greenhouse gas emissions, will have an effect on
our future energy supply.
If the future could choose, hydrogen will play a major role in the future energy
society, either as a fuel, or as intermediate storage of energy in integrated, renewable
energy systems. NEL Hydrogen is committed to provide technology that enables
solutions for the future. This is well demonstrated by the launch of the new
electrolyser model NEL P•60. It provides unique technological features in terms
of operational flexibility making NEL P•60 the ultimate choice for new
concepts in the energy sector:
• Power-to-Gas (PtG) - Providing added value for renewable energy plants by
utilising excess energy to produce hydrogen as storage medium for energy for
later alternative use.
• Hydrogen Fuelling Stations - Providing clean fuel to the transport sector through
a complete on-site 130 kg/day hydrogen plant supplied as a turn-key, compact
20 foot container solution.
EXTREME
FLEXIBILITY
NEL P•60 is a compact, high pressure electrolyser that provides a technological
breakthrough in terms of operational flexibility. NEL P•60 has an exceptional dynamic
operating range between 10% and 100% of the installed capacity while maintaining high gas
purity. The hydrogen production rate responds immediately to rapid changes in power input.
Additionally the electrolyser can be put in stand-by mode for long periods, allowing instant
resumption of hydrogen production when required.
This extreme flexibility makes NEL P•60 ideal for integration with renewable power
sources and industrial applications with variable hydrogen demand.
